Hey, don't you think these videos might deserve their own thread in the news sci-fi subforum?
I think more people could see them then... Well, if it is not allowed or something i understand, i can open it if you don't want for any reason
On topic, I found on the Infinity website that Corvus has uploaded a new video, the last about rules:

They actually re-did it, as it had, in one cadre, spanish abbrevs left. I was quite impressed with that (considering the movement table in rulebook 2ed is still in cm's)
"I'm Mr. Bad Example, intruder in the dirt
I like to have a good time, and I don't care who gets hurt
I'm Mr. Bad Example, take a look at me
I'll live to be a hundred and go down in infamy"
Does anyone have any links to some interesting scenarios? I've got the two official ones off the Infinity website, but I'd like a larger selection to choose from.
We played last night with a quick idea we threw together; there were 6 civilians scattered around the board, one per building. A model had to synchronise with the (Hostile) civilian (as per the rules in Human Sphere), then roll a D6 to see if the civilian was the right one (score of a 6 meant it was the one; if 5 had been 'investigated' unsuccessfully the last one would automatically be the one) then make a WIP roll to get the 'information'. The model then had to make it off theboard with the info. My Lieutenant managed to acquire the information, but was gunned down as she did so. I healed her, after running a Yaozao remote across half the map (itself surviving a couple of ARO shots), but the was gunned down again. Luckily I mamaged to retrieve the info from her and escape with it.
We also threw together some simple rules for the buildings; from basics like the warehouse being a Low Visibility Zone to the Ammu-Nation gun store granting a model a roll on the Booty equipment table, if you survive being fired upon by the malfunctioning security droid.
And my ninja finally did something useful; interrupting the enemy Croc-men who were in the process of interrogating a civilian. The ninja came in through a back door and cut down both Croc-men in close combat.![]()
Well you could look here; http://www.infinitythegame.com/infin...tid=7&id=58833 as these are the scenarios I'm using for the GenCon ITS this Friday. And last years scenarios are on there somewhere, just do an author search for Darkeldar.
All the best freaks are here...Please stop staring at me.
We played with civvies once. My opponent was playing CA, so he just shot every single one of them on the board. Feels bad, man.
Anyway, I am thinking of implementing something between fow and malifaux scenarios for the game, so more of point control or target assasination than what we refer to as "picking mushrooms".

After my Invincible failed to 'intimidate' one civvy in a bar, and suffered a Wound for his troubles (Critical hit with a CC of 6! most irritating), I was tempted to kill 'em all, too.
Do CA not suffer the VP penalty for blowing unarmed combatants away, then?
One thing we were thinking of - not so much a scenario as a sublpot - was to have a TV news crew wandering around. Anyone using 'illegal' weaponry in LOS of the camera crew suffers a VP penalty.

I allowed him to avoid minus points for killing civs, considering he was playing the dastardly alien and all.
As to your idea, I attest it works, there's usually one scenario in every tourney locally that has O-12 restrictions in place, which can sometimes lead to silly situations (swiss guard shooting enemies with his pistol because explosive ammo is banned for example), but it also opens up new tactics.

We make up our own scenerios all the time-items to go and pick up(PH stat) items/stations to hack(everybody gets a free hacking device but non-hackers take a steep penalty to hack), underground items in the sewers(seperate table) and so forth. i have also grabbed a few of the old skirmish mission setups from the old 4th edition 40K rulebook.
We're also toying with doing some sort of breaching action. Use the Space Hulk board sections or something similar, and make the whole board a Zero-G zone.
A really fun idea is to do that but make one part of the board a hab-ring with gravity in it. Now you can have non-0G units but in a limited scope. And to make things more interesting have the hab-ring's spin controls be hackable to that it can be turned on and off potentially trapping HI in an environment they were not meant to deal well with.
The Consillium Convention restriction rules are fun as well and I've used them once or twice. It's fun to see people forced to use sub-par options to avoid getting hit with the convention. Other variants are to have that news crew film as an ARO. Basically you can use O-12 banned weapons out of sight but you get hit with VP penalties for doing it inside their LoS. Give them an autonomous film drone just to be really evil (it can be impetuous so it is always moving toward the action). Maybe have rules for attempting to see if you can make them "disappear" and then taking the data they filmed and doctoring it to make your side look like heroes and the other like monsters (take your negative VPs and apply them to the enemy).
Making the news equipment hackable would be a plus as well (oops looks like that news drone has its back turned to the guy with the shotgun, to bad for the guy the camera is pointed at).
I like that idea to give every model a hacking device with a penalty on it - we always had trouble making good missions in particular if any sort of hacking would be needed, since it would be to simple often to kill the hacker of the opposing team. The idea is rather simple and we never thought of that.
A really big problem of the game I think are the requirements for the terrain and I was a bit sad to see in the official infinity videos only paper card terrainIn both rulebooks you only see a few snapshots of sceneric dioramas, but never a complete gaming table.
No matter - a great game really with awesome miniatures, but a game that takes quite a bit of effort to get started (the biggest draw back I think).
In the mission where you require a hacker, I usually just bring 2 or 3 and a repeater drone or two. Most factions have access to a hacker with T.O. camo or Airborne Deployment, so they can stay out of trouble until the target is located. Ariadna is really the only problem, but then you shouldn't be giving an Ariadnan force a mission objective that requires hacking.
Yeah, part of the fun of hacking games is it adds an extra layer of strategy to the mission. Now protecting the hacker becomes important and players need to split resources to trying to neutralize the enemy hacker while attempting to get the data themselves. Repeaters and well-layered defenses become the order of the day and you really need to be on your toes.
I also attempt to have secondary methods of accessing things where the hacker is the best way of doing it (because they can do it remotely) but direct hardline access also exists. For example if a terminal needs to be hacked then a hacker can do it so long as it is within range either directly or through a repeater but a normal trooper can deploy military ICE breakers if they can get into base to base with the terminal.
Incidentally hacker-requiring scenarios also give really good reasons to take multi-role units that can fight and hack. Things like the Hac Tao can be really scary in this regard due to the awesome combat skills mixed with top-grade hacking ability. Add in an EVO repeater and you have a terrifying unit to contend with. Assassinating that hacker will be easier said than done.![]()
Completely agree.
Hello, everyone.
New in this forum. Very focused in Inifnity those days.
I guess is time to do something about it...
Ok, I guess this thread can be useful for many people.
The best way to get into "Infinity" is watching these videos:
This first video explains the basic background of all Infinity fluff:
Fluff 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI6IEHmEaNY
These three videos explain the game system:
Rules 1/3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ogtjm7UspSQ
Rules 2/3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24DJrs3b9p4
Rules 3/3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCfmOAGWAUY
The rest of the videos of their chanel basically describe each faction:
PanOceania: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezishF133io
Yu Jing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXfgmhtjCMY
Ariadna: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APrnXvi3Uio
Haqqislam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2zSeg_rvSk
Nomads: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTDKIU6_avk
The chanel shows that there are three videos more to come.

Excellent help for new gamers, specially the rules videos.
With all that, and the Infinity army builder:
Devil team Army
and the Infinity Wiki:

Everything free, everything online...
It has never been so easy to get into a game.
Oh, the new releases have been out for a week now, the Metros are superb!![]()
Right, i've dug out my old CA models and having long since given up trying to register on the forums I thought i'd ask for advice here.
I've got enough models to make a sizeable Shasvastii themed force, the models were brought before the newer releases. I have;
3 Seed Warriors
2 Malignos (1 Sniper)
3 Shrouded (2 combi, 1 Sniper)
1 Cadmus (Combi Rifle)
2 Speculo Killers
3 Gwailos (Conversions, can have combi rifles or boarding shotguns)
3 other Cadmus (Combi Rifle or Boarding Shotgun)
converted Haiduk
I was thinking of converting two of the Cadmus into Aswangs to give my force a bit of versatility. What weapons are optimum for a 3 man Gwailos fireteam?
edit: Huzah! Turns out I was registered under another name for some reason.

Kabal of the Poisoned Tongue plog
This weekend i did not actually play any infinity but i got to watch a coule great games.
Our newely minted PanO player went up against our nomad player.
Both lists were at 300 points.
The nomad player went with his normal list first game chock full of intruders and mobile brigada. his second list 9out he went hacker heavy with an inventor, some sputniks and his own salamander TAG.
The panO player went elite with the list i helped him build
Jotum LT
swiss missile
druze hacker
doctor
engineer
X2 palbots
nisse HMG
fuliser rifle
Game 1 was a very close game indeed it took nearly the entire game for the nomads just to take out the jotum in all panO lost like 3 minis and the nomads lost almnost double that. at the end of the game there was a 6 point difference in the nomads favor. a very close brutal game.
The second game was a big shcoker full of fun suprises and new tactics.
the first game was a straight up kill mission, this one was objectives. 2 liftable and 1 hackable. thenomads of course got the hackable first where the PanO forces grabgbed one of the carry items and spent the rest of the game trying to deny the other to the nomads.
The set up this time arouns was table quarters in an L shape (12" in by 24" long from the couners)
Again the jotum proved it's worth taking nearly the entire game to go dawn, finally falling to D-charges. the swiss picked up the slack and managed to slap the nomads around a good bit. killing thier TAG, engineer, a remote and forcing them to flee the table.
teh grea tmoment came when the nomad inventor tried to hack the jotum. the druze decided to attempt a counter hack.....and rolled a crit!
He blew out the inventors hacking device and shut down their entire network.
Both great games to watch!
UNfortunately i was in and out doing other things so i only took pitures of the table setup.
