    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

Thanks guys, just working my way through the videos now, it all looks rather good. I guess i'd be better off packing out my list with 2-3 Line Infantry to start with, before starting with the Hackers etc...they do seem little more complex. I was trying to start with models which I thought looked cool, but that's about 99% of them!

I like how the website has advice on what to buy after your starter set to make a 300 point list. From what I can gather those lists look pretty okay... so would it actually be a good idea to go for those models? I have the Ariadna faction.

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

I would say that if you like them, then yep, go for it. What I like about infinity is that you can pick a model that you like the look (or fluff) of, put them down on the table, and when used right (plus the dice favoring you never hurts) they won't disappoint.

I am also not 100% sure and someone could chime in, but I think that tankhunter would be a good pick up...just in case you go against an opponent with a TAG. I personally want to build lists that are mainly infantry...but I always have to consider that I will have to face one of those big walking targets.

Well one of my buddies is probably going to be picking up the Haqislam list they suggest on their website.

The Autocannon Tankhunter is worth it for the model alone.

In smaller point games he's probably going to be overkill but you could always proxy him as the AP HMG version.

Well its for the 300 point list suggestion that is on the Infinity website

    http://www.infinitythegame.com/infin...tting-started/

I pretty much got all the models suggested already because I think they are all really cool. And my friend will be getting the Haqislam version of the 300 point suggestions most likely.

Up till now we have just been playing with the BoW quick start rules with 3 models. Looking to use the whole starter box content soon and start adding guts rolls and camouflage rules.

Ordered my Ariadna starter boxset last night

Deliberated for ages, but saw a seller having a stock clearance sale, so thought I would sign up!

Like I said, in bigger games the Autocannon is fine, if you know you're going to be facing a TAG then it's excellent.

Very true. My friend liked the look of Ariadna and I think the Autocannon Tankhunter sealed the deal.

Good deal. When it came to finally putting money down to start buying minis, I was in the same boat. "Should I buy these guys? Or perhaps these ones? Why do they all have to be so cool?" was all I kept saying for a few hours while trying to finally decide.

Which to be honest, I'm a little bit ticked off about. I ordered some out of stock stuff shortly before they announced their sale, and now I suspect they're not going to re-order the stuff I want until their sale's all done.

I'm guessing Maelstrom... It would seem weird if they don't order/recieve any new stock for the whole of April. Perhaps they will fake out of stock till the end of april.

    Re: The Official Infinity Thread

Yeah, was indeed Maelstrom. I'd thought about starting up an Infinity army for a few months, love the minis though have never played. Getting rid of all my GW stuff slowly so I thought I'd dip my toes into another skirmish game (got about 30 points of Warmachine stuff).

The extra money off was just incentive enough to order, and I think they only had the Ariadna and Yu Jing starters in stock. I really like the Ariadna range so decided to just go for it, although before I had been humming and hawing over Ariadna, HaqqIslam and Yu Jing.

If anyone wants, the 25% off code for Maelstrom is SPRING-CLEAN, just put it into the 'Redeem Voucher' box on checkout. I've had fairly good experience with Maelstrom in the past, although they can be a bit slow to dispatch.

Bear in mind that they're basically out of stock of anything Infinity by now.

They would have been out of stock of Lizards had the funds been there And if I hadn't hung around I might have gotten that Merovigian starter when the code still worked on pre-orders. C'est la vie though.

Don't worry I ordered a Lizard to alleviate your pain... I actually wanted to buy the Nomad Starter, but it was already out of stock... so opted for buying the "expansion on starter set" units.

... Damnit, I haven't even played a proper game with my Ariadna yet and am already starting my second faction. Why are the models so pretty?!

Shhh, shhhhhh. Don't fight it friend. Just go with it and buy everything haha.

I've been fighting off buying a second faction for some time myself. Thankfully, as well as sadly, I don't have the money to spend wildly on it. I've been drooling over a 300pt Aleph army that will only cost me about $70 USD but I keep telling myself any extra funds will be for Yu Jing/JSA. Then I look back at Haqqislam and I start to want to get into that. Later on I stumble upon the realization that a Bakunin force would be pretty sweet to have as well. Then I looked at the new Merovigian starter and really like that too. Then I start to think "**** IT, ONE DAY I'LL BUY EVERYTHING!"

Also, since people are talking about online retailers, I got my initial stuff (Rulebook, JSA starter, Su-Jian, Shan-Ji Invincible, & Wu-Ming) from Wayland games. I live in the US and I got my stuff in about a 9 days. I only used that site once but it was a good business transaction. Later I found out my LGS can order Infinity stuff so that's where I will continue to do my shopping as I extend more into Infinity.

Hushrong my brother, go to the Warstore, I'm sure you'll come out cheaper buying from them. Not that I'm saying that ordering from your lfgs is a bad thing.

I forgot about that site. I was going to use it buy me some bitz...and for some reason I never browsed for anything. I'm a bit tempted now. Thanks for bringing that to my attention Lithian. Perhaps just buying comics from my local store and minis for other games will balance out the karma of me buying from the Warstore for Infinity

    2. Yes, I would like to confirm that I like Infinity. It's a game to my liking: it's squad based, fast paced (feels that way thanks to the active/reactive system), and awesome.

How about yourself? Have you been playing/collecting Infinity?
