WOW, i didn't you guys still existed. Dark eldar players i mean.

It looks like you can really paint!

Also, that picture someone posted has made me want to check back through the whole log because those guys look very, very funky!

why thank you! Its been my aim to make them look as nice as my mate's new style Eldar. I think I'm doing ok so far.

@ dood515- glad to prove we still exist, I wanted to do an army that people don't see very often and don't know what to expect. Its been a very long process but I think I'm beginning to make some headway with it.

i really ought to paint some warriors and forget about exciting models for a bit or I'm going to have a very boring time in a couple of months...

Glad to see this is still up and running. Your archon guy looks amazing. Where did you get those plastic heads with the wind swept hair? I need to get some of those...

Re: Purple and Spiky - A Dark Eldar project log

Frausty! I missed your post. The heads are from the High elf chariot with hair sculpted on them by me and also from the high elf bolt thrower set.

    Here's a little something I'm working on:

Picked up the DE battalion nice and cheap so I have now got 10 jetbikes to be working on. Trying out a different 1500pt list and am looking at playing some 2000pt games.

I'll let you know how it goes.

    thoughts?

Nice conversion, it fits nicely with the foot guy that I also like a lot.

Interesting that you could still get hold of one of the old Harlequin jetbike fronts. I like it.

Thanks very much guys, I think it looks nice.
@ Bloodknight- the intention was to make him look like the guy on foot. used pretty much the same parts IIRC.

I got the Harlequin bike free with my nice cheap Battalion the other day. £35 was such a bargain. I would love to do the other bikes in this style but would probably use the regular eldar hoods so that the Dracon looks different to them. more ornate. this could prove expensive though so I'll just assemble the bikes as they are for now and use my usual truescaling and Alternative heads/ weapons approach to get them looking nice.

I have a nice new army list too for 1500pts and am going to be working on a 2000pts list later for bigger games. Its Tyranid release day and my mate Martin's (Nid player) 21st birthday. sigh. he's sat next to me with the new 'Dex grinning...

    ok here's the list:

    Archon 60
agoniser, splinter pistol, combat drugs, plasma grenades, shadow field 73
    Drazhar 90 & 5 Incubi 125
    plasma grenades 12
    Raider 55

    Dracon 35
Reaver Jetbike, Agoniser, Tormentor Helm, Combat Drugs, plasma grenades 87

    6 Warriors, 1 Sybarite 62
Agoniser, splinter cannon, plasma grenades (for Sybarite only) 87
    Raider 55

    6 Warriors, 1 Sybarite 62
    Agoniser, splinter cannon 85
    Raider 55

    9 Warriors, 1 Sybarite 86
    2 dark lances 20

    9 Warriors, 1 Sybarite 86
    2 dark lances 20

    4 Jetbikes, 1 Succubus 141
2 blasters. Agoniser, Tormentor helm & plasma grenades (Succubus only) 49

    3 Jetbikes, 1 Succubus 116
2 blasters. Agoniser, Tormentor helm & plasma grenades (Succubus only) 49

    Talos 100

so unless my maths is crap or the list is illegal in any way that I haven't noticed thats 1500 pts on the dot.

thoughts on composition? I'll post this over in the tactics thread too I think...

    cheers

I wouldn't give the DL squads Syrabites as they should avoid close combat at all costs and will die with or without the syrabite either way. I would also have the Archon on the Jetbike and the Dracon with the retinue. The Dracon needs the protection more and the Archon is better when not being slowed down by the Incubi. Freeing up some points for a Ravager would be a good idea too.

Re: Purple and Spiky - A Dark Eldar project log

Thanks for the response mate, I'm going to deal with List responses over on the Tactica page so as to avoid cluttering up all the pretty pics. http://www.warseer.com/forums/showth...43582&page=208

I see what you mean about the Sybarites but since I always play Nids it often works out fairly well... killing carnifexes is v useful

I was thinking of switching the dracon and archon around whilst writing the list. that was suggested in the other thread too. will have a bit of a playtest tomorrow I think.

I really don't like the Ravager concept. I know its good but its a bit of a mental block for me in FO.

    Adam

p.s. would love to hear some more feedback on the models.

I just have to say your models are amazing haha. I was thinking about buying a ton of Glade Guard and Eldar Guardians for my Warriors, I was convinced that the Dark Eldar range was dead but your conversions are excellent. I particularly like your Sybarite with Agonizer conversion that you mentioned you might use as a Dracon, what a beast.

    Two thumbs up

Hadriel, beautiful minis as ever. I really must dig my DE out of the 'rents house and crack on with them - your thread needs some competition from other Kabals.

Re: Purple and Spiky - A Dark Eldar project log

looking good man, stop painting broodlords and get those jetbikes finished! still think you should run a ravager tho, as those sybirites seem such a waste of points in those dark lance units, they just sit there for 4 turns doing...not a lot. Or get some more bikes. Or something.

    So's your face.

The dark lances units have killed, in combat, 2 broodlords and a carnifex in two games. The agonisers stay for now. or at least til I can be bothered to change my list again...

Gen.Steiner- get your DE up sharpish. would love to see them.

//on topic- I have assembled all ten jetbikes bow, based 5 of them.
I was going to paint them the other night but got distracted by Salarath's Space Hulk Broodlord... I've never painted a Tyranid before.

Pretty much the most fun model I've ever painted. Will upload some pics when I put the bikes up.

Hurah! for kroot parts! Boohoo for nids!! (though they are painted very well)

Funily enough I'm going to be using old harlequin jet bikes in my eldar/dark eldar as well.

Amazing work so far man, I'm especialy envious of your ability to sculpt hair. Something I haven't had the dangly man parts to try just yet (though in my defence, most of my sculpting has been chaos, so long longs of beautiful flowing hair hasn't been exactly needed).

Good to see you're inspiring others to break out their own DE. I know I'll be snapping off a few pics of mine this weekend...perhaps sooner.

Hadriel, I bet you can't finish your Jetbikes before I get my Dark Eldar log up and running at the end of Feb/beginning of March.

Thanks very much mate. Just a shame they suck so much under the current rules... they're some of my favourite models as well.

I have years of playing Inquisitor to blame for my hair sculpting skills, think the link in my sig still works.... if not my photobucket account has an Inquisitor album or three.

Everythings looking really good. The jetbikes that have had their splinter rifles replaced with the end of an agoniser, are they representing Blasters?
