Ok, so here we go again. After some indeterminable time lurking, I will once more post a project log and try to get one of my damn armies painted for once in my life. Hopefully nothing else retarded and life changing will happen and force me to lose interest and stop working...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!

That's right, it is time to paint some Orkzez blue.

I have always had a fondness for orkz, especially the kleptomaniacs that paint themselves blue, but never started an army since my first opponent played them and I started 3 armies while we were gaming together, heh... but now, I am older, and wiser (at least I would like to think so) and actually have the money and means to build what I hope will be a great ork army!

Being deffskullz, I am raiding my bitz box for parts. So far I have two with looted bolters (I figure an ork waving around a bolter with one hand would be just as effective as a slugga) and a myriad of imperial and other random bits and bobs attached. I have great plans on scratch-building some fun vehicles, but I needs the materials first, and I'm still trying to figure out how to best spend my x-mas money. Get the most orky bang for my buck, so to speak.

I currently have in my possession, the AoBR orkz, 4 push together ones I bought and converted like 2 and a half years ago, metal big shoota and rokkit launcha boyz, 4 lootas and a mek and a trukk! I have no army plans thus far, since I don't even have the codex, but I want a lot of crazy vehicles and gunz, and meks to make them not explode quite as much. Honestly, I'm doing this army for fun, and the love of converting and building ramshackle vehicles and devices!

Alright, enough inane babble, here are the first of my completed boyz and their nob!


No set scheme for cloths or even style for painting it. They are deffskullz, who knows who or what they ripped off to clothe themselves? I wanted it to look like different materials, so even though some parts may be the same colours, I painted them differently to try and get a more eclectic look to my orkz.

Close on the nob. He has an imperial officer's pistol strapped to him, as well as stolen sword tokens and the statue that has been defaced a little from some unfortunate Dark Angel.

This one is the first one I painted... about two years ago, which would explain why the blues and greens are slightly different than the rest, heh. Just has an auspex that probably doesn't turn on anymore.

My first big shoota. Just repositioned and filled in the neck so that he wouldn't have the same pose as the other big shoota boy. Has stolen imperial desert camo as a shirt.

And now for something totally different, my still very WiP deffcopter #1! It's a test of my scheme on vehicles, I'm liking it so far, needs much more work still. Note the Bullet Bill and "DA STINGR" rokkits

Cool looking boyz you got there. Will you be glueing the blades to that Kopta or leaving them loose for easier Transporting?

Here is bolter boy number 1, nothing complicated, just used a bit of cereal pack for the plate.

I'll be leaving the blades loose, they fit snug enough without glue and much easier to transport that way.

The paint jobs aren't grainy, I just don't have a lighting rig atm and the pics were taken in direct sun, will try and get better pics one day.

Yay, finally got to spend some of me xmas monies at my fav local store (10% off all GW products!) no thanks to this retarded bus strike. But whatever, shiny new stuff!

Nobz, a box of boyz, grotz and finally the codex... now to get them together and painted!

Ok, so I was going to try and take some new (better) pics of my orkz after I got the new looted basilisk photographed, then the camera's batteries would have none of that. But at least I got some decent pics of the looted bassie...






Yay for plasticard. I'm thinking about putting on some extra armour and glyphs nailed to the krew platform, and maybe a Vanaheim style gun shield, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna do that. Still needs a rivets in a bunch of places, but it's getting there! The shell the loader boy is lugging is a shaved down whirlwind missile.

It may have taken a while, but I got new batteries! As well as a new cat, so my painting and modelling isn't going so well!

But anyway, I got around to trying to get some painted pics of my warboss that don't suck. I think I succeeded to some degree...

I like the looted basalisk your converting, but I'm not sure about the barrel of the gun there, looks like it wouldn't even fire in a realistic situation O_o. But hell, this is the 41st Millennium.

Eh, I figure since only the end of the barrel is damaged, and only outwardly warped, the shell should still travel the intact length of the barrel, the blossomed end would just totally destroy any trajectory, which would explain the lack-uracy of the weapon and the massively shortened range.

Besides, what does this gun even fire?

I think this one assaults mechanical sensibilities more than the busted earthshaker barrel, .

Chipmunks. Confuses the heck out of the enemy. Not to mention the chipmunks.

Nice to see some more Deathskulls, even if they put mine to shame . Really nice stuff, I like to stolen bolters and general gubbins, adds a lot of character to them.

I'm still working, ever so slowly, on my deffskullz. I just got in a brand new battle force and a box of nobz in the mail (good old UK online store, I got both for less than the price of just a battleforce here, shipping included!) and now I can start gluing plasticard to orkz!

Naturally, that means that I'm going to be making a mob of 5 Synapse-inspired meganobz! Started on one last night, and here is the progress shot taken this morning.
