Ok so thought i'd apply the method i learned on plague bearers on a deathguard army i bought ages ago but never painted.
Seems to work okie, here is a tester marine, took about 15-20 mins to do. More to follow:

Since I just started my own DG army, I am rather curious as to how you painted them. Since they look really nice.

Pretty easy really!, actually i'd get my mates at work to do some maybe its that easy to do:

Feels somewhat naughty painting these that quick since they'd cost almost £8 to buy each in some cases but heyho heh.

Looks a lot like my way of painting, though I tend to go for a bit more light stone/brown colour as a base, and gnarlog green/dulled golds for the trims and details.

Yea anything would work I guess, just keep a base and lighter dry brush and the DM+GS washes and it should turn out fine.
Make sure you post a link in this thread if you do a tester model, i'd be interested to see :P

can you explain some of the methods?
tankbrush?
Drybrush?
wash?
Thanks
Tankbrush is a product GW sell, Its basically a big (and quite expensive brush). Tank brushing in this case basically means getting a big brush and covering the model evenly all over. e.g. So it looks the same as if you had sprayed it black (but gretchin green in this case). You have to de careful when doing this so as not to put too much paint on the model so it loses detail.
Drybrushing is basically when the green is dry you get some paint on another big brush (or even a gw 'drybrush', again expensive) and wipe most of the paint off. You then quickly flick this over the model to give a sort of highlight. In the case of these guys I make the highlight quite pronounced. The trick with this is to makesure the brush is fairly dry before putting the paint on as it just ends up messy.
Washing in this case is simply a case of getting yet another big brush and dipping it in a wash pot and then just eveny (and liberally in this case) putting it over the entire model once you have painted all the metal bits etc... Let that dry and then do it again with the other wash.
Above methods all really easy and quick to do which cuts the time by loads! The trick is in the washes, everything looks shocking until you slap the wash on (they are magic). Drybrushing is prob the hardest bit, i found a tutorial on the goooogles for you:

I could do a step-by-step if anyone wants?

I would love to see a step by step. This actually is one of the Best IMO DG figs for the time spend I have scene... I'm not looking for the fastest... just the easiest, cause my skills are still new.
Ok here is a step by step:
You will have to excuse the pics.
Tank brush of gretchin green foundation paint.
Liberal dry brush of rotting flesh
Basecoating the metal bits mainly, tanned flesh for rotting bits, bit of blood red on main tube to break the pipes up on this particular model, also this particular model has boils, so bit of bad moon on those.
First wash dried, Delvian mud wash

Second coat dried, Gryphon sepia wash. Put the model at a bit of a better angle to show how it ends up fairly highlighted (it looks even more so in real life, my lamp washes alot of it away in the photo :P)
Thats all there is too it really, This one took about 20-30mins.

WOW, they look awesome and you got them done in such a short space of time. I love using the washes making shading easy as hell and don't have that shiny look that the inks had.
Thanks, yea the new washes I have concluded are in fact magic.
I'll be painting up a group of lesser daemons next, in the form of nurglings!

I've nicked your scheme for my Black Legion Plague Marines. Hope you don't mind. One question, how much extra attention did you give to the bare head on the test marine?
hehe its okie, i stole the technique in general from another WS member. Head was just flat coat of dwarf flesh!

Those are looking really good Latro_!
I used the same technique for painting my DG, with different colors. It's really fast and effective!
