these Orcs and Gobbos look great! Can we get a closeup of the night goblin shaman? it looks like you took it off the warbosses shoulder, and I want to know how you made that work.

Re: The Malenky log that could

    Thanks for all the Comments.

@ EmperorNorton: I think you're right, thanks for pointing it out.

@ Aflo: I'm glad if it can be of any help to somebody. I'm working on several different projects at this time, but i cant seem to leave the greenskins for long.

@ Dakkapantz: Thanks. Indeed i did, I have primed him black but manage to find a better picture of him before i did. I had to re-sculpted the hand holding on to the spike, and i did it in a "kiss the ring" pose.

I'll finish the boar chariot then I'll try to find a good green color for my orcs, while I'm doing that I'll paint some spider riders or regular night goblins.

Re: The Malenky log that could

@ Fenix Felder: Thanks. Well I'd hate to disappoint so i took some time from painting the chariot and started on the shaman.
The Orc will have to wait because i haven't finished converting him.
I'll take some time with him as he will serve as my warboss.

I'll take some more pictures of the shaman and the chariot when I've done some more work on them,
I'll also take a better photo of my warboss and try to do some more sculpting on him.

Very cool shaman. I also like the green patina on the bronze (brass?), looks good.

Really great shaman. While the mini was still wip I wondered what the hair on the back was exactly, 'til I saw these are shrunken heads on the finished version. Very cool mini, and good job on seperating the two.

Re: The Malenky log that could

Thanks for the comments, I hope you all will like what I've done to and will do to the warboss.

    The warboss as promised.

Still WIP a little left to do. I don't really know if or what to do with the missing horns.
Should i make him some new ones or make the helm as if there never were any horns there?

And some almost finished spiders missing there riders.

Any suggestions regarding the warboss would be appreciated.

Re: The Malenky log that could

I just had a look on the original mini and I think you should make him some new horns. The helmet would look to "clean" (and kind of like a Blood Bowl helmet) without them.

Re: The Malenky log that could

If i remove the horns I would try to make the helmet look more like a roman helmet but instead of a plume i would make it to look as if it were made out of metal, like a blade.

But you're right if I'd just remove the horns it would look like something out of bloodbowl.

Re: The Malenky log that could

Blade-helmet generally sounds like I good idea, but on this model I wouldn't do it, because the blade would probably rise above his back, which I think would look silly with his bent-forward physique. Am I explaining this right?
I think what I'm trying to say is, the helmet would be too dynamic for this rather undynamic mini.

The shaman looks really awesome, I love his pose. Hmmm for the horns you could maybe use horns from the plastic black orcs.

Re: The Malenky log that could

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, I'm leaning toward using horns from the black orcs and some gs, but i don't know.

Anyway, the spider riders are missing some final highlights to the feathers and spear tips but as good as done.
Next up i think it's going to be some night goblins taking some more time to think about how to finish the warboss.

Nice. Love the spider riders, especially the one on the far right with the oxidised shield - the muted colours of the spiders go really well with the brighter greens.

Woah very good start on this army, I like the skin stone, and everything you painted so far. The goblin shaman is superb; and I can't wait to see that warboss finished.
I particularly like your bases, very simple but efficient at the same time, they really look like scorched earth with dry grass (reminds me of a terrain in starcraft)

How did you do the oxydation on some metal parts, like the shaman staff ?

Wow, this army just gets better and better. Thanks for the skin tutorial as well, I will definately give it a try. Looking again at that shaman the detail is simply superb, how did you do the dead flesh on those dwarves?

Re: The Malenky log that could

@ Aflo: Thanks, that was what i was going for.

@ azhagmorglum: Thank you, I tried to make the bases as if the orcs were fighting dwarfs that they'd raided earlier.
Regarding the warboss, i think you'll like the next updated.
oxidation the way i do it is easy, i paint Brazen Brass, highlighted it with a mix of Mithrill Silver and Brazen Brass then a wash of Jade Green and it's done.

@only joking: I'm glad if the tutorial could help despite the rather poor quality of the pictures. The flesh of the dwarfs were painted with a base of Khemri brown, a Little liche purple and enough pale flesh to make it a little brighter. Highlight it by adding more pale flesh, then pale flesh from the bottle. Finish it by adding skull white. Hope that helped.

Anyway, it turned out that i didn't paint any night goblins, instead i converted my warboss and finished him. So in my next update I'll post some pictures of him and perhaps with some color on the mini.

Oh, i also painted the giants base so maybe I'll paint him after the warboss.
