I like the rather random look you've gone for with your chaos. It looks much better than the cleaner mutated look that they often have now and harks back to the grand old days of Realms of Chaos. Keep up the good work.
Been playing since 1991, so if I get the editions all mixed up, please been kind on me - my brain can't keep up!

Some really nice conversions in there. How are you planning to do your forsaken, cos I suspect they might look pretty similar to those spawns. Especially from behind... The spawns are pretty awesome though! I'd recommend that you get the spawn kit anyway btw, it's hugely useful for converting everything else!

Re: Mike D's Chaos Warrior Army

Ok here is my new sorcerer. I tried my hand at source lighting and Im pretty pleased with the results. I'm also sneaking in a pic of my previously posted jugger as I think Ive figured out the photography thing a little better and am going to start re posting some of my previous guys that had bad pictures.

I just got the marauder horsemen box set, Im not too excited about painting it but need it for the game... I think my next conversion project is going to be a nurgle palanquin with a sorcerer on it. Ive also had my eye on a shaggoth for awhile now. Well anyway thanks for your time and have a good one.

OSL looks great, love how you went for a plain color scheme, really makes the OSL pop.
    The Jugger looks awesome too.
    Keep it up!

Oh wow!!! That sorceror looks so hard!!! Wow! The Khorne lord on juggernaut looks amazing! I was thinking of going for a similar look for mine, and you've convinced me that it can look great.

    Nice work.

Your Sorcerer looks great. Superbly well painted and very characterful. The lighting effect is exceptionally well done. Your Khorne Lord looks great too, it's such a great mini but not quite as great as what you've created with that sorcerer!

Wow thanks guys! Best responses Ive gotten so far, my self esteem is through the roof seriously. Tonight if I've got time I'm going to reload my spawn pictures with the better lighting and see what you all think.

Wanted to repost my spawn now that I know that these pictures need more light. Also an army shot with the wizard in there since I think he becomes the focal point now that he is the only orange in the army and I think its pretty cool.

Re: Mike D's Chaos Warrior Army

I painted up some marauder horsemen really quick today. You can see my Conan tribute on the left. I decided to give them throwing axes instead of flails, which might be a bad idea I hear, but I wanted to try it. Also there is another picture of my whole army since I like to do that.

I dont know what I should get next. Ideally Games Workshop would come out with new dragon ogres then I'd get them. I kind of want a shaggoth model so maybe that. Tactically I probably need more dogs or marauder horsemen. Any Ideas?

Re: Mike D's Chaos Warrior Army

Ok. Here is the list that I used for most of the league I just played in. I'd change a few things if I was to do it again, probably, but it went pretty good. I came in second although there really wasn't much competition.

    (1500 points total)
    Heroes:
Exalted Mok, Axe of Khorne, Jugger, Shield, Blood Curdling roar, favor of gods
Sorcerer Lev 2, MoT, Powerstone, disc
    Sorcerer Lev 2 Powerfamiliar
    Core:
12 Warriors full command, halberds, shields, banner of rage
12 Warriors shields, hand weapons, full command, banner of wraith
    5 chaos hounds
    5 chaos hounds
    Special:
    Chaos Knights full command lances
    Rare:
    2 Chaos Spawn

That includes every model I own except for six unpainted chaos warriors(in case I wanted to bump my warriors up to 15), my marauder horsemen, and my demon prince.

Here's my thoughts on future expansion if any of you want to help me plan it out. I want to get a 2250 list for a tournament in August:
    - I'm almost certainly going to do what Malenky voted for and get a shaggoth, its just the money really at this point.
-I want to make chaos ogres that look like the plastic warrior model, but scaled up, out of putty. That's probably a pipe dream for now with how much work they'd take though.
-Maybe forsaken? I could see doing that with warrior models and green stuff
-Don't need anymore characters but Ill probably get that lord of nurgle model, the one with the scythe and raven, just cause I like the model.
-Like I said before probably should buy some more horsemen and doggies but I'm not at all interested in painting them...
