Wow.. liking those prussians indeed.. and the DF mat seems to be the best part of the new GW solo release..
Any chance for a game review or bat rep with the Prussians in action? Wondering how it plays and if it is something to pick up or not.

Dystopian Wars is definetily a must have. The designs are awesome and independent, the prices are fair and currently there are lots of opportunities to get your hands on some cheap starter bundles.
The rules are straight forward, easy to learn and offer a lot of possibilities as you have air, sea and land to battle.
In your case, they are going to release the ottoman empire next year, might be interesting?

Wow.. great.. better chance of me getting my colleagues involved then.. also after seeing the mat from Dreadfleet, might have to look at getting one of those if nothing else than for the mat to use with Dystopian Wars..
On saturday was post-day, and "IT" arrived, to be more detailled this package:
What is it? Good question!
It is a larger lot of Necromunda Blisters to complete my collection. Some blisters are doubles or even triples, but no problem, as they will wander into my "I clean up my hobby room"-sale in the next days.
Beside that, i got asked, whats with the Triumphial Arch? Its a promotional terrain piece from Tactical Terrains ( http://www.tactical-terrains.com/ ), that was made for Brueckenkopf Online as an answer to our question "what are you guys capable of?". As far as i know, it is not planned as a regular shop item, but we could "convince" the guys to make a 2nd one for our X-mas Club Giveaway as a special price (it will be send to the club without the whole imperial stuff but with the engraved club name). Nice. http://www.brueckenkopf-online.com/?p=49622
The giant build was modified with spackle to give it a more gritty surface, additional engravement (reading the name of my space marines homeplanet), imperial insignia and some left over miniatures. I am still painting it, there will be more gold and marble, a few more ornaments and a small graffity
And i was busy for the Brueckenkopf on the weekend, preparing reviews, among them were this Viking Warband for Saga from Gripping Beast Miniatures. 25 Miniatures for just 33 GBP, thats a word! Really like them.

Looking forward to hear what you think of the SAGA rules. Your reviews are always done with great care.
I never understood why GW lets a system like Necromunda without support. I never played it, but just heard good things about it. Even without new modells its seems to be popular worldwide.

Love the archway mate..
Questions..
How are you putting on the spackle.. cause it came out really well.. almost concrete like..
Also the paint recipe for that archway.. care to give us a walkthrough on the colors and techniques? Seems to be the perfect color for sandstone..
And agreed about Necromunda.. why does GW keep pushing out great side games and then just them fall to the wayside like that..
I used a big brush and mixed the spackle with a little bit of water. Then i stipled the thinned down spackle onto the arch. At first it looks like crap, but as it dries, the spackle will reduce a little bit and smoth more onto the surface. Perfect base for drybrushing.
The base color is Dark Yellow / Panzergelb from Vallejo, after that a heavy drybrush with Citadel Desert Yellow and lighter brushes with Bleached Bone and Deneb Stone.

Time is a rare companion. But here is a nearly finished (well still missing some details) Predator!
The skin is Rotting Flesh, the dots are Bestial Brown. The Metall is a mixture of oiled steel and German Camo Green. Dheneb Stone was used for the skulls, leather was done in Scorched Brown and everything washed in Devlan Mud.
The miniature is currently nearly finished, more details added etc., and i am looking forward to the next Hobbybreak to paint
And there was some further paint on the vikings, close to getting their picture taking.
On the weekend was great "Werkstätten", with Stahlhelm, cigars, X-Box and Fastfood ... and we painted! Great...

Definitely a nice paintjob and Predators are always nice. The miniature itself has its flaws (hair and some parts look rather clumsy), but there's hardly anything you could do about it.
Looking forward to your vikings!
Love the predator, I've got the one with the. Ask but it looks no where near as nice as yours.
Also can you tell me where you got the minotaurus tank from on the second page, I've searched everywhere but cannot find that model anywhere to buy.
That minotaurus tank is from frontline, but it seems they closed. They used to have a shop under 28flt.de ...

A big thank you to Martin Peterson (who showed hs Necrons in the GW Blog and on Tentakel Games) for a great inspiration.
I've been unhappy with the grey of my marines for a long time and therefore Ba-Ding, Space Marines with new colors.
I wanted something special, but easy to do. The colors beat grey in every way. They cover better, easier to handle and fullfill the purpose of a more military look that i wanted. And it will look great on vehicles.
Left one is primed with Vermin brown, middle and right ones with khemri brown. On top of that graveyard earth, kommando khaki and bleached bown drybrushes. Final wash with ogryn flesh.
Left and middle got mordian blue as a contrast color, right got knarloc green, to see if this variation would be better.
I'm going for the blue version, one base of khemri brown. Now painting shall be done!
Only one thing is missing, a new name, as the Legio Canum ("Grey Legion") isn't the perfect match anymore.

As you shouldn't rely on the look of a single miniature, but more on the look of a whole unit while creating a new paint scheme, i painted a squad of 5 marines to test it.
Base color is Khemri Brown, brushed with Graveyard Earth and Kommando Khaki. It was washed with a mix of 3 parts Baal Red, 2 parts water, 1 part Devlan Mud and 1 part varnish.
On top of that, some highlighting of the edges with khaki and bleached bone.
The blue is mordian blue, the metal parts are boltgun and chainmail, the darker parts were painted with charadon granite.
The bases were done with P3 Greatcoat Grey and brushed with Codex and Fortress Grey. The grass was straw from the gw basing kit, washed with devlan mud. IŽll changed that for a more red-brown gras, that is shorter and looks more like patches of grass instead of bushes.
And i grabbed a squad of 5 scouts to try the paint scheme on them. Expect so see more of those, many more of those. I really dig the metal scouts and have quit a lot of them in my army. Perhaps iŽll be able to field a whole force of them as a special spearhead army.
As i already promised, the Infinity miniatures will get a re-do. I changed the bases to the new official micro art bases for infinity, and started with the prime colors.
In the end, they should look like this.

Those are probably my favourite brown Marines I've seen. Usually brown on Marines looks drab but, maybe it's the blue or the basing or something, but these look charming. Are you going to be doing the vehicles with the same scheme?
There (still) is no spork.
The vehicles are going to be in the same scheme.
Well, the RolePlayConvention is over now for about a week, and now its time to do the body count ... erm part the treasure.
Personal highlight were the freebooter booth with their amazing demo tables and great costumes, and that martin brought his gigantic 40k cityfight table with him to show it on the tabletop insider booth. Beside that i had the chance to get to know some people i used to only know over the internet in person and had some great chats at the show, which is always a great thing.
But now to the precious little things i brought along from cologne. One of these is the new Dust Warfare rulebook, the tabletop spin-off of Dust Tactics. I am really looking forward to that game, as most of you who took a look on this log will know that i dig zombies, loads of pulp and world war two all together.
An aftermath of the bitbox is the rat-thing from Necromunda, which Franz brought along, thanks a lot for the miniature. I am really looking forward to the next bitbox in autumn! What is the miniature for? Well, I-Munda, what else?
In the back there is a mighty battle engine of Khador. It belongs to a new army project on warmachine, as a counter-part to christians / Darkovers Menoth warband. It will be a small crossover between the log-o-rama and Brueckenkopf, to give the portal a more personal note and test a new concept of articles.
In the small brown package are the brand new and not yet released miniatures for the new dark eye tabletop Schicksalspfade. Mixed feelings about these, some nice miniatures among them, but 2-3 that don't satisfy me that well. But more on them in an upcoming review.
The remains of a large bag of rpc dices, that i bought for our editorial staff and some helpers at the RPC. Unfortunately chessex messed up the dates on the dices and engraved april instead of may as the date of the show ....

Nice, nice. I hope you're enjoying Saga. I have to fight myself each day for not buying it.The picture of all the Necromunda blisters is just beautiful.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with DUST Warfare!
I already have the rulebook and figures and have started painting
The rules look fun![]()
