Hello, hello, major update time today

I think I made pretty good progress, and I am very please with the result so far.

    First I completed the 2nd AA-turret

Then I drybrushed the upper turret/superstructure with Boltgun

and did them rims with Brazen Brass

    Next was another slogan image

Concedo Nulli - "I give way to noone"

    Looking pretty good so far

    Next was the slogan flag

Time me, quod ego tua apocalypsis sum - "Fear me, I am your Apocalypse"

    adding the skulls

    and with the AA-turrets

    And the complete ZEUS

    So, whaddaya think?
    C&C welcome
    Cheers

    @.@... Magnificent

Oh to taste the terror of the Imperiums foes as that beast rolls onto the battle field.

Your 'Nose art' style freehand is awesome and the build is really nice, all the elements compliment each other nicely, not to little, not to much.

Well that's the first tank in a long time to actually scare me. Loving the freehand, really defines the character of this monstrosity well.

The red ribbon/banner looks great. I like all the skulls too, although I think you may go crazy with the amount of them you have to paint

    Thanks for the ratings

So, today just a short update, as I only had to complete the other side...hmm...the drivers side or the passengers side...???

I started off with the second icon, this time based on a Frazetta sketch:

The intended slogan was "Post me, nihil est - After me, nothing", but with the amount of rivets on this side (due to the commanders ladder on the inside) I didn't really have the space.

Then I continued with the second slogan flag. And I always wanted to try a black flag...

"Bellum Omnium Pater - War is the father of all things"

    About 100 skulls later:

So next up is the font part

Hopefully I can get something done tonight.
    C&C welcome.
    Cheers

    Re: ZEUS Battlefortress (WH40K IG)

    Hi guys,
Some have pointed out I made a mistake on the black flag - instead of "Omnium" it says "Onium" - so War isn't father of all things, but rather of an Onion...
well, nevertheless, here's a rather large update from the "Lord of the Onions" *blush*

I continued with the rear section

I painted the cabeling, and the rear Vents/exhausts.

Then I continued to finish the upper superstructure, doing the sights and details

I completed the commanders station (note the interior here is in a light blue)

    Then the sights

Then came the next floor, and I did the Vulcano Cannon, as well as another slogan banner

"Gaudete quia tandem Imperatoris lux venit" - Joy because the light of the Emperor has come

And another slogan on the other side

"Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus" - Never wake a sleeping dragon

    Re: ZEUS Battlefortress (WH40K IG)

This completed this section, and I moved to the next level

another slogan "Semper paratus" - always ready

    I added all the skulls

    and finally painted the VMB

    Snugs in nicely, doesn't it?

And then I did the first of the two Vanquisher turrets

    WOW! That is truly awesome!

One comment - The winged skull on the side and the skull / lightning on the VMB seems a bit 'flat'. You have so beautiful highlights on your freehand - Apply some of that on the wing skull and the lightning skull.

Keep up the good work - Your freehand is out of this world!

    Re: ZEUS Battlefortress (WH40K IG)

    Thanks guys
I certainly do agree about the flatness of the golden skull symbol. I am thinking about filling these with small skulls to - this time doing the outline with the dark Tin Biz, instead of painting brass on black. I will have to experiment a bit...
    similar to this:

In regards to the latin phrases, I do remember some of my Latin, but I found a great wiki page (in German) http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_l...cher_Phrasen/A plus a fellow modeller on WIP provided some (thanks King Azog).
    Cheers
