At the risk of repeating myself in the TOFP, man I love the blue/grey on that toll, the bone turned out ace too. Nice looking squgs, its great to see a color break up that red. What did you do to achieve that yellow?

Thanks for your input.
I did the yellow as follows :
1) basecoat of tau sept ochre (TSO)
2) first highlight of TSO + iyanden darksun (1:1)
3) second highlight of TSO + iyanden + skull white (1:1:1)
4) third highlight adding more white to the mix. Apply this as thin strokes on the most raised areas.
Don't forget to thin down your paints
5) first shading of very diluted TSO, concentrate on the recesses.
6) second shading, TSO diluted + gryphonne sepia wash (1:1), in the recesses still
7) third shading, more gryphonne (as suits you), in the deepest recesses.
For the shadings, I did several passes until pleased with the look.
Thanks for looking !

Congrats on trolls!
Yellow on squig looks good. And will look even better as contrast to green/black gobo.
I like the idea of desert squigs![]()

Thanks Arkanus. Here are some pictures taken at the beginning of may. The skin of the squigs and goblins was done back then.
Since, I've been working on these guys, they are practically finished, except maybe for the snotling and some touching ups here and there (mostly repainting some mistakes).
I've worked also on the 3 other stone trolls, to bring them in line with the new one. I rebased them first, and started painting : the scales got some drybrushes of mordian blue +/- astronomican grey, skin has its first layer of adeptus battlegrey, and the bases are finished. Finally I've also resumed work on the wyvern and completed the beast's scales. I think the result is quite great, or at least satisfactory for my taste, you'll be able to judge it when I post pictures (that I shamelessly haven't taken yet). I started to paint the wings also, not that much done, just the, hmmm, how do you call it (the parts between the membranes of the wings) ?
Anyway, I'll try to take pictures as soon as possible to show you the progress. Thanks for reading, and keep on commenting on the previous work ^^

Also, im totally stealing the way youve painted your wyverns belly, looks very nice!
Ah, more squigs! They are, once again beautiful - allthough the blue/red one makes my head a little dizzy...![]()
Here is a shaman I painted in april for the shaman conversion on the da-warpath forum. He won the competition and I'm aloowed to post him here now. He is based on the runtherd from the 40K range, a staff made from the boarboyz' standard, his bacpack is from one of the orc raider, some skulls and the rest is greenstuffed (fur, straps, ropes, pouch). It's my first "extensive" greenstuff work, and I'm quite happy with it.
The pictures are not that great, I'll try to shoot some better ones later on. Enjoy !

Great work! Squigs skin looks very good. I am looking forward to see them finished. Special "Like" for yellow/black/green combination - it's a win for me.
Shaman is totally unique. Well done Sir and congratulations on winning the competition!
I wish I have some spare time to sit and paint even for an hour or two.

Wonderful paint job. All of them. Squigs are great, trolls are classic, wyvern scales look so smooth!
Congratulations!
Now get down to painting! I want more goodies.

Black is too dark IMO, and yellow a bit too brigth ...
So, a coin toss between red or leather.
Yellow wings - quite lame, kinda tyranid in fantasy
Brown - too similar with scales colour
Black - common colour scheme, looks proper and nice
Red one - looks noble and royally badass, my favorite, so coupled with black ones these two variants are the best IMO
Only one option for me - black highlighted with browns. I'd love to see it. It would be a killer for me.
Red and yellow are to contrasty to the naturalistic look you gave to the rest of the body.
Black highlighted smoothly to brown is the way to go.
Anyway, whatever you choose I know it will be top quality paint job and epic look.
I can't wait to see it finished.

I like the red wing membranes best. But that makes sense since it's the complement to green. Next would be yellow, then black (which just has a 'meh' feel to it), then brown which is a big 'meh'.
I agree with arkanus, black up to brown. Maybe red if it was a more muted shade.
