Is it just me, or are all the pikemen in the same marching pose? Are there any who are actually ready to use their weapons or who can be converted into that position?
For myself that is not much of a problem. Just makes them easier to "rank up" in formations. THAT said, I do prefer a couple of different poses in a unit of 20 or more troops.
Most/all of my battles normally include large numbers of minies on both sides. None of my usual opponents have "units" of all posed alike troops.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
We will probably find out more when we see the actual sprues, but for now I have seen only marching poses shown.
As for conversions, just grab some of the bill/halberd/spear wielding arms from the first set, do some drilling and cutting and insert a pike into their hands.
Time to start drooling, the sprue pics are available on TMP:

I think I will have three boxes for starters...
2 Boxes of these and 1 of the other and I can field an all Perry Empire army and possibly delve into historicals

Back from the last link. I like the arms/choices, select weapons. Plenty of poses with a little hacking and drilling.
For me, the lack of each minie being unique is not needed for rank and file minies. Anyway, I normally mix in some "other" minies to break up any line to line/rank to rank sameness.![]()

Looks like a new milestone in plastic sets.

Really loving these mini's and the other sets, The 100 Years Wars and the Wars of The Roses interest me greatly. What would the best rules system be to pick up for these periods??? Any help would be appreciated as i'm seriously thinking of doing a Yorkist force.
I seem to recall that sometime in the last year (or so) Perry brothers stated that they did NOT want their business to grow FASTER . They were said to declare they were/are happy with the pace of success at Perry Miniatures.
At the time it did sound (to me) as if they are enjoying life while maintaining financial stability (or however you want to put it).
THAT said.....waiting a year is NOT fun. But then I can't make my own minies....soooo....I'll be waiting however long it takes.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
We can always hope. If they take a fit they can speed up a lot of things, and they have often suprised us (well, me, at least) with releases that came totally out of the blue.
Well, wait and see.

Well, they have a number of other plastic kits to crank out first (ACW Zoauves, Sudanese Mahdists and Napoleonic Prussians), and those will take some time.
Back to the mercenaries box, possible DoW players buying it for the pikes and crossbows should also take notice that it should be possible to build also a few duelists with the components included in the command sprues.
Have the people at Perry Miniatures put out a "craved in stone" sequence of production list? I would really like to see/read the list. It would help me to establish a what to buy list when.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
Perry twins tend to be notoriously reluctant to give any specific release dates until their product is actually ready. This is probably pretty sensible for them, as it makes life less stressful.
However, since the three-ups for the Zoauves and Mahdists have already been shown seven months ago, and the Prussians somewhat later, I would really expect them to be the next Perry plastics to hit the shelves.
I read in an interview that they pretty much have only a vague idea what they are doing further along than the next project. They want to keep their buisness fun so they don't adhere too strictly to a release schedule.

While the Perrys second set is in the coming, Renegade has released its metal line of WotR. With the regiment 544-deal you get up to 120 metal minis for 54 GBP, so they are not totally outpriced by the Perrys (though it gets a bit repetetive, I assume). Anyway, also a nice set.

I took a look at the Renegade miniatures, but did not really get excited by them.
