Trying to stick plastic miniatures together with white glue is not a particularly good idea. I should know, since I have tried it too many times myself...
The minis look great, but before i take the plunge and buy loads to form an Empire army, does anyone know of a good option for Greatswords. I read that the Mercenaries box sprues contain hand and a half swords, how many are in a box and go they look 'Greatsword' enough as i plan to possibly use these as historicals as well so want to steer clear of the GW sized weapons if possible.
"In war it does not matter who is right, but who is left."

no there are only a couple of longseords as part of the command sprues, they are long swords not proper zwei hander that the GW greatswords are based upon. Not really the same era.
There's plenty of plate armoured models. I've assembled mine to represent greatswords using the hammers and axes in the original set, along with some halberds, and when i get some mercs I'll mix in some swords.
There's only one heavily armoured infantry unit in the empire army so it'll be obvious what they represent.

@Crazy Harborc, as far as my knowledge of merc's fielded in the war of the roses goes there is strong evidence of them being used in the final engagements.
Henry Tudor later Henry VII of England returned from exile in France, its documented that the majority of his force were of French or continental origin. Only his closest retainers were English. I'm not sure of units that were involved but I would hazard a guess that there were possibly Genoese and other units used on continental battlefields. Strong evidence of Welsh Mercenaries too as it is said Richard III was impaled by a nameless Welsh Pikeman.
It is also Documented that in the 'final' engagement of the WOTR's the Battle of Stoke Field 1487, That Yorkist forces fielded Flemish, Swiss, German and Irish mercenaries. So there you go![]()
The white glue is a temporary bond. I won't be using since your suggestion about blu-tac.
I had used white glue to temporarily glue minies to holding sticks/nailheads while parting the minies. These days I just leave a bit of sprue attached to the plastic parts. When I don't need the "handle" anymore, I snip it off, use real plastic cement, wait for drying, then paint what needs it.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
Yeah, when i run my wotr army for warhammer, i intend to use my fully harnessed men at arms for greatswords. Poleaxes will serve fine for two handed weapons (should be halberd stats, but hey)

Aye, i guess with warhammers massive slabs of steel, you would strike last if you could lift the weapon at all.
Inspired by Captain Blood (ala link a few posts back) i decided to do some leg swaps. Works well on the 4 i've done, slight height variant on one of them. Not sure if ill rip it off and add some length to the thighs, probably not as a bit of variant in height looks natural.
Ordered my Perry and Maelstrom orders on Sunday, still not had a response from either. Itching to get my hands on my order and fighting the temptation to order more. Also debating the Freezywater books on heraldry. Ł25 for the A-Z set, Ł9 for the Standards, Badges and Livery book and Ł9 for the Peerage of Towton (seemingly no long carried by Vexillia, but available on Lance and Longbow Society).
Bit pricey, anyone out there got any of them? Worth the price tag versus Googlefu?

My card has been charged at last, meaning that my order of metal figs from the Perries is hopefully going to ship out pretty soon.
Here's hoping. i emailed them the other day, they were waiting on stock from renedra, the standing men at arms in particular. Ive bumped my order to include warwick and the scurrers, just hoping they get to me soon as i start my new job on the 21st, because all this spare time ive been enjoying will be gone and with no daylight lamp to work by, these gloomy winter days dont leave much work time to get some modelling done.
On a positive note, my Merc boxes arrived. Been working on my 'rearward' unit, in marching formation. Pinning the halberds has been labour intensive. Thank god i bought some micro drill bits when i was in London last, I love 4d, a modellers paradise.
I must say that im slightly disappointed compared to the first box tho, the new components seem a little inferior in sculpting quality. Maybe these were sculpted in a shorter time, in near actual scale, rather than 3 ups. The posing seems a little off on the command frame, skinny limbs etc. The crispness of the detail is great, they just dont feel as solid as the originals.
Got a fair few heads i can't really use for wotr, aswell as the flag sheets. Prob xbows and guns too. Anyone out there wanna swap for sallets and bills, im after a towton flag sheet aswell, got wakefields x 4

Aye, i made three seperate purchases of the first box, each time i had Wakefield. What flags come on the Bosworth sheet?
