Well, the command sprues on the two plastic infantry kits already contain a small number of dismounted men-at-arms (four models per box). At least the cavalry box will provide more arm and weapon options for those.

Another thing that I would like to see would be a set of light/medium cavalry, that could be used to construct hobilars, coustiliers, scurrers, mounted crossbowmen etc.

Re: Perry twins announce WotR range

Thank you for the updates. I am looking to Spring/Summer 2012 to be able to to hold some of the forth coming Perry minies in my hands.

I am old....surprise. Having minies like the ones Perry Miniatures puts out is good for my future. Good for my day to day life too.

Some days us old farts need reasons to wake up.......minies work for me.

yes but a special box of dismounted MaA would be great.
Although they do have scurrers etc. in metal it would be good to have more stuff that you can convert and make those pieces which aren't already out there. I want some mounted archers...

Surprise news from the Perries on TMP: they will be releasing a late medieval cottage set at Salute. Besides the cottage, it will also include a small shed and wattle fencing (which will also be available separately from Renedra). Also cover art for the plastic men-at-arms set is displayed.

On other news, the command sprue from the mercenary set is now available separately from the Perry online store, priced at £4 per sprue.

That is a nice cottage and the fences look very good. It seems a very good price for what you get in the box.

The cottage certainly looks like something I can use for both Renaissance and my medieval RPG campaign (Hârnworld).

No general release date yet, but availability at Salute points towards April/May for the MAA (and cottage).

    Not to mention WHFB!

In other news, looks like I found a local also doing WotR Perry minis, and he's a Yorkist to boot! When I get home from work tonite, time to inventory, do a few lists, and look at ordering reinforcements!

Boo hoo.......I live on the wrong side of the Pond!! Enjoy seeing and buying the goodies from Warlond and the Perry's at Salute.

The command minies ARE the big deal for me. I am into the Perry's plastic WoTRs minies and Warlord's plastic ECW minies

I hope to see LOTS of photos for Salute......hint, hint.

Thanks for the heads up about the goodies at The Warstore. I am about due to spend some money for a restock of my "to be painted goodies".

Now the twins have announced, that the mounted men-at-arms should definitely be available at Salute. Plus a metal figure of Charles the Bold.

Salute is exactly one month from now.

The Charles the Bold model looks really nice. However, I think I'd rather order the sets from a 3rd party to save on shipping and cost per box, and simply buy yet another box of men at arms with the money saved!

I know there have been some comparison shots of the Perry plastics with various other manufacturers, but does anyone know how they compare to the Perry sculpts for GW's DoW, specifically? I'm really spoiled for choice with Perry Miniatures stuff alone, but for some reason of late my eye has been wandering back towards Pirazzo's Lost Legion. IF they're in the same scale.

Re: Perry twins announce WotR range

Personally, I think the Perry WotR range matches very well with the DoW range they did for the GW - the height and the proportions of the figures match very well.

And since the DoW range is largely based on historical 15th century Europe, also the styles of clothing and armour match well in many cases (though some of the models in DoW range also feature more fantastical styles).

If you are planning on making a DoW force for WHFB, I think the Perry range is an excellent source for models.

Thanks, good to hear they're pretty compatible. I've already got a core of 80 European Mercenaries that are doing double duty as Dogs of War, but it's good to know that I should be able to throw in some Lost Legion or Marksmen of Miragliano if the mood (and ebay) strikes me!

If you like that style of models, you might also want to check some of the models in The Assault Group renaissance ranges - namely the Spanish and Italian ranges.

I've still got some of those DoW minies. One opponent has about 40 of them. 20 (or so) are used as pikes (he converted to wire pikes)

If the Perry Brothers sculpted them I like them. I do have a couple of hundred metal PM minies. Got several hundred PM plastic goodies too.

Mounted men-at-arms and medieval cottage are now up for pre-order on the Perry website. Apparently they will start shipping them after Salute (11 days from now).

I guess I will wait until they are actually released, and then order them through Caliver books (like I did with the previous Perry plastics).
