Three hands and one other manipulative appendage. And plenty of "hands on" experience with late medieval period.
On another note, my local game store started packing Perry plastics lately (and at a very competitive price), so I today picked my fifth set of the mounted men-at-arms.
Stradiots with lances, as well as a corresponding command pack, seem to have snuck into the store when I wasn't looking.
To quote Wikipedia: "Aside from facial hair they look virtually identical, except that Michael lost part of his right arm in 1996, following an accident loading a reproduction cannon during a re-enactment of the Battle of Crécy in France.[1][6] This was a very serious injury for a right-handed model sculptor and illustrator, but he learned to sculpt and paint with his left hand.[1][6]"
If you were looking for a reason to say he's talented, that's it.

Actually, I got a sixth box in the mail last week, though it is still unassembled. But that will be the last one, at least for the time being.
As for the infantry plastic sets, I have got quite a few of those as well (all assembled), as well as some of the various metal foot packs from the Perry twins.
I am knee deep in PM, WoTRs goodies too. I would have more...BUT...I am into ECW now. If I could find ECW headgear for my hundreds of Perry Miniatures WoTRs troops I would have more of them standing in for ECW troops. Even at 28mm scale on the tabletop my opponents are happy/okay with the standins.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
Dunno if anyone has been following the news but:

News from the Front!: http://chaoscreations69.com/blog/
I at last managed to get back to assembling this, and the horses are now done - except that it looks like I forgot to order more bases to go with them, so attaching them to bases will have to wait. But now I have a grand total of 72 assembled horses (12 unarmoured, 24 with Italian barding and 36 with German barding). Still needing to assemble the last 12 riders though.
As for the Perrys, they seem to have been a bit quiet lately with their medievals - nothing new shown on the metal workbench lately. Probably a good thing, I have enough stuff to paint as it is.
The Perry's outout dropped during the LotR design phase last time. I know that Weta, Jackson et al were very impressed with their work - I'd say they'll pick up again soon.
I forgot about the meddling halflings distracting the twins again. Well, it is their day job after all.
On the other hand, I managed to complete the last of my 72 plastic cavalrymen. Ended up doing four of them as Burgundian officers - for that I used the models with livery coats over their armour, so I can paint them more distinctively. The plastic set also comes with a few heads that work really nicely for commanders - actually there is quite an excess of very nice heads from that set, with 12 different heads per sprue for 4 riders.
(If I could only think up some use for those spare unarmoured horse heads that I have also managed to accumulate in my bits box...)
Hmmm, I could use that for a unit of silly Bretonnian kniggets (or maybe mounted yeomen). Though I would probably also need a coco-nut clapping servant to follow each hobby horse, as well as a few swallows (European or American ones?), peasants walloping in mud, watery tart dishing out swords, a holy hand grenade and The Book of Armaments.
That said, I have already a plentiful supply of cocktail sticks (for building the hobby horses), as well as a killer rabbit (based on a small stone, surrounded by the bones of previous victims).
There was an old piece of Blanche artwork that had redcoated, tricorne hatted musketeers on hobby horses. I quite liked it.
Speaking of horse heads, how have people used the spare set of feathers that comes with the mounted men-at-arms sprue? I have found two uses for it so far:
1.) take the featherless horse head from the rider sprue, drill a small hole to the forehead, trim the base of the feathers a bit and glue it to the hole
2.) take the horse head with an armour plate from the horse sprue, and glue the feathers straight to the forehead
I also considered glueing them to the helmet of one of the riders, but they were rather oversized for that - though they might work on WHFB Empire model (can't have too big feathers on those).
Come on November 23rd. I WILL be ordering/buying more Perry Brother's goodies from The Warstore. The 23rd is Black Friday over here. Sales everywhere, BIG discount shopping day.
I have lost count of how many of the PM's WoTR and or the Mercenary plastic goodies I have. OH well.....they are ALL painted now....need more.![]()
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
In a sneaky fashion, Perry twins have lately released three new packs of Stradioti without any prior hints. First pack is with bows, second with crossbows, and third one consists of westernised stradioti with a mixture of lances and bows. First two come with metal horses, for the third you will need plastic horses (sold separately).
They must be using that stupid little halfling's ring again....![]()
