Check out the work by Captain Blood for some Perry goodness.
PS:"Due to a slip up our price rise didn't make it to our front page although announced else where. Therefore instead of a 1st Feb increase we will hold it off until the 20th Feb. The increases are as follows: 50p on all metal packs and all plastics (apart from the American Farm house which will be £15) will be £18."

Fetch out your wallets: Michael Perry displays a bunch of metal halberdiers/pikemen to complement the range. Expected to enter production pretty soon.

Looks like the five boxes of Perry plastics (3 of mercenaries, 2 of bill and bow) should have made it to my local post office by now. I will go and pick them tomorrow!

As far as I can see these should be looking the same as the WOTR plastic chaps for they are meant as booter packs for the WOTR range!
Sillyness aside, I notice that there are a few more "attacking" poses with a bit more armour on them, no closed helmets to speak of and a veritable assortment of different and nifty halberds...
Well, these guys are Frontrankers, really. With so many complaints about the "almost all in the boring marching pose", it was obvious the Perrys would remedy the situation.
Unluckily for the mumbling masses, they got metals instead of a new plastic box set with lots of attacking pike/polearms arm-combos.
Isn't this already a reason enough to get them?
Granted, these are not something extraordinary, but it is always nice to have some extra choice. I will save my final judgement until I see better pics of the production figs (instead of greens), but it is likely that I will end up getting one of each pack to bring some more variety to my forces.
Aye, same. Hard to tell with the pic size and the contrast between the metal dollies and the green/brown stuff.
More variation is always good, even if they do slightly overlap the plastic sets.
I emailed the Perry's asking if the mixed polearms you get with the Agincourt to Orleans Men @ Arms will ever be made available seperately. Would like to get some for model variations, some bec du corbin, lucern hammers, axes etc. Same with hand weapons and bare heads. Probably won't happen due to the financial viability, but a boy can wish....
PS: on a side note, wonder if they'll do a set like the samurai range, with a victory/defeat theme.
Nobles, with armour stripped off, being escorted to their execution, the dead being looted.
Same with dead and wounded, would like to see some of those.

I will be getting some of the metal PM suppliment Mercenaries to compliment my plastic ones.
Got plans for at least 3 boxes of Perry Miniatures plastic Mercs. A good start for minies to use in the 1450 to 1500s period. So many choices to fight.
Do not forget those flags!! The flags that are part of the enclosed pamphlet are good and will be used....all of them![]()

Here is a fella selling four boxes of them at a discount.

I am starting the Perry mercs tonight. GREAT looking minies. IMHO, better than what they do for that "other company".![]()

Well, it is the Perry twins after all - if they fancy doing something in metal they will do it, regardless of the financial viability. As for heads, they have stated they are planning to crank out some sets of separate metal heads for conversion purposes.
Anyway, I finally got my 3 boxes of mercenaries and 2 more boxes of bill/bow today. That should keep me occupied for a while.
I am working on my first box of Perry Mercs. I am still drooling all over the details those guys put into plastic. I can count the links in the mail.
I am already considering conversions to try. Well, it is more like mixing arms onto different bodies. I want some grunts who "found" armour for their arm but not for their chest.
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?
I am still staring at my sprues, drooling and thinking of the multitude of assembly options that they offer. Too difficult to decide which combination to assemble first - that is why I haven't started removing any parts from the sprues yet.
(I am also not sure how much plastic glue I have got in store - probably not very much.)
Just done one assembly with it partially painted. GOOD fit on the parts. Only had a very little flash. Testor's cement (in a tube) and PM's plastic really love each other.![]()

I am still experimenting with the possible poses using blu-tac. Probably won't be glueing anything together for a few more days.
