Yup it is. It's a very nice model, I can definitely recommend it.
I also checked out Moonstriker, so far I like Lights! Lights! Lights! best, I really like the lyrics. Though the vocals seem a bit off-paced.
Anyways, my GF is in a band so I get around and hear plenty of amateur bands, and among those yours is already a step ahead.

I'm trying to, but I suck at photography. So I doubt it gets any better than this:

So, I hope you can live with those.

And here's where I am at with the stank:

Right now I'm washing the gold... fun... not. And apparently the turret needs another go too, hmm perhaps it wasn't the best idea to paint them in different ways.
Anyhow, as always, I'd love some C&C.

Coming along nicely, that stank. What colours will you use for the shields? Also, those griffins could perhaps use a wash of devlan mud for some extra definition, but maybe that's what you're doing right now (as you said you were washing th gold...)?

Looking good Gargobot! Love the wizard, the purple in particular looks really nice, good choice of colour there. The Steam Tank is looking brilliant so far. Will echo the question about the shields...

The shields will be Hochland colors, they'll be halfed vertically so that... ah, too many words... just see this post by Matrim_Cauthon, I'll do the same thing just with red and green.
And yup I 'devlan mudded' those griffins right after the post. (And I 'mudded' them hard )

Side-note: For once I feel good about getting a ToFP entry done on time.

Good job on the yellow wizards, especially the newer one. Having painted yellow I feel your pain of having put down 8000 coats of yellow to get it even. Some freehand would look nice but also there is something to be said for nicely shaded blocks of color.

Gold on the stank is looking pretty killer too. Keep it up!

I really like your work....I will never be say a Dark Apostle painter, but you give me something to aspire to, if you put in the hard yards and get good information.

    Keep it up!

Battling against yellow is always intense, but this way I have something to look forward to. Cause I really hope to have freehands down... one day.
    And thanks.

Wow, thanks that is a huge compliment.
With comments like this I will definitely keep it up.

And here is a last wip of the stank, I've since worked on, so there's really nothing unpainted 'cept the wheels and the base. To which I've actually got a question, normally I have my models glued on the base before I sand them. This time I haven't and I'm wondering can I glue the stank on the sand, or should I leave 4 points free of sand where the wheels come in, so I can glue them directly on the base?
Ya, I know what a basic question. I'm somehow confused.
    Anyway the wip pic:

Edit: Forgot to mention the turret is absolutely the same hue as the chassis, it only looks so bright because the light is shining directly on it.

    Wunderbar! Sehr schoen.

I love how something that would be far beyond the point of being done for normal painters is a WIP for you. And what's your formula for the gold? It's so...clean.

Very nice, look forward to see the stank finished. About basing: I left four spots free from sand, roughly where I estimated the wheels would connect to the base, then touched up with some extra sand after the wheels were attached to the base (because there were visible "gaps" around the wheels). So, yes, I think you have the right idea about how to go about it. Putting the wheels on top of the sand could look strange. Doing all the basing once the stank is glued to the base will obviously present you with a lot of trouble when trying to reach the area underneath the stank....

Really great pics of the wizard BTW. What did you use for the blue gradient? I'm looking to get one of those (will probably print one out using photoshop/Illustratior or some similiar program) - do you care to share the "values" of the blue?

    Danke sehr.
Well the gold is just Shining Gold on Scorched Brown, highlighted with a 1:1 mix Shining Gold & Mithril Silver. And then washed with Brown Ink and after that Black Ink (the OOP GW inks).

Thanks, I guess it's just that I keep on painting, practice is all.
Well I imagine you have much more important things to do now. I'm still impressed with the quantity and quality you manage to paint for the tale.

Thanks. Of course, the base is drying right now.

I also went with the estimated wheel position, works okay.

The blue gradient: Well I was too lazy to do it myself so I just googled "blue to white gradient" and printed out the first result.

    Thank you very much!

The stank itself is done, just basing it. Pics soonish.

Really nice stank, love the colours ;-). I do hope you had better luck than I did attaching the pistons and wheels... I had to cut some parts to make them fit!

    Cheers!
