Lovely colour scheme on the wizard, it works very well and is very well executed. Also, awesome steam tank, it looks like a fun model to put together and paint. Looking forward to more!

Looking for a gaming group in Glasgow, PM me if you know of one!
Nice work on the stank Gargobot. Can't wait to see the next thing you paint.
The Man's Prayer
I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess.
I'm currently taking painting commissions and drawing commission at the moment.

Really well done. I also like the name a lot. It's more inventive and somehow fits. The thing must be huge if that's a chariot base it's on.-
Sweet! What's next?

That looks awesome Gargobot. You've done a really great job! Top stuff!
That's looking really great.
Thank you. It really is a nice model.
Thx, let's hope you won't have to wait too long.
Thanks, it is huge. The tuskgor chariot I've standing around here looks puny next to the stank.
Thanks mate. Next up: Flagellants.
Thank you!
And again, thanks.
I don't have anything new yet, but I'm putting my flaggies together right now. I've got 20 to go, so I wanted to mix some other heads in there for variation.
The thing is I'm not so convinced of the heads I have here.
Namely the Bright Wizard head:
...which I think looks a little too big for the body.
And the Middenheim heads:
...which I think don't go so well with the regular flaggie heads - stylewise.
Any opinions on that? Should I rely on painting different hair colors, or mix in the other heads?
Id say that the wizards head looks perfectly fine but seeing the second one i think is a no no. it just seems a bit too sane for a flaggie.
I think the heads look slightly too big for the bodies. Style-wise the wizard head is fine, but I think the second head has a distinct "older" (and somewhat cruder) feel. I think that the original heads would be fine, there are quite a few to choose from, and if you go for the ones with lots of hair and beard I think you'll do fine with just different colours.
I can feel the urge to paint more flaggies myself nowNice kit, and also extremely useful for all kinds of conversions.

Very good job on the steam tank, looks great now it's finished. I'm not sure the older heads would look very good with the newer ones unfortuately, but maybe it would look different painted up?
i like them!
the wizard head is just cool...gives the flaggelants an even greater characterrich feel...
I think you could probably get away with using both different heads- the sclupting style is definitely different but when painted I think it'll appear more unified.
Edit: My two semesters of high school German failed me yet again so I put the name of the tank into google and got "Complex tail"... Am I missing a figure of speech?

Thanks guys for the feedback, I've decided not to use the other heads. I wasn't really a fan to begin with, and I guess I can achieve enough variation with different hair colors.
It's not your two semesters failing you, it's my scrawl. It's supposed to read Kometenschweif.
The first five flaggies are now pip, currently working on the skin for which I chose to try harder contrasts for more drama, drama, drama.
Unfortunately the cam is at my GF's, so all I have to offer are pics from my first fantasy army BoC (took them on April 1st, after seeing mrtn's orc).
Chariot covered in varnish, why varnish? Apparently I played ruff, so my BoC's needed some extra protection. (Or maybe my brother had a pot of Varnish - yup, that was when GW's varnish was just varnish and not 'ardcoat- and I had to smear it on everything that didn't move.)
And a shaman (though in half of the games he'd just transform into a chaos spawn), not covered in varnish... look at his staff all messed up. That's what happens when you go to battle without proper coating.
I hope everyone had a good laugh, 'til next time.![]()
Beastmen! Suddenly this looks like a real log and not just a gathering place for those soft empire typesYour painting has certainly come a long way since doing these Gargobot. Are you tempted to resurrect your Beast army?
Just give them a proper basing and they're tabletop worthy.![]()
Those Beastmen look decent for your first minis.
They certainly beat my first attempt at painting.

I was, but I have 20+ Orcs, another BfSP box, a Savage Orc command unit, a Savage Orc shaman and another NG shaman here, plus the two Beastmen chariots are easily converted to either boar or wolf chariots. So my next army will be O&G or maybe one from that other game. (The one with the many kays)
So, didn't have much time to paint. This is where the flaggies are right now.
If anyone ever wondered (I sure did), where flaggelants spend their time when they're not trying to get killed in battle. They are at the gym - all the time! Apart from the fact that you can see their ribs, they all have six packs and more than moderate guns.
Anyway skin and brown are done, next is some red and green. Not the usual tone though, I think I'll stick to the foundation colours, one highlight and then wash. To keep it darker.
Thoughts?
Skin tones look great, as do their brown garments! But red and green? I understand that's to tie them in with the rest of the army, but I feel a bit sceptical. Maybe if they were actually wearing the odd uniform part, otherwise browns and greys could be more suitable. Still, I'm all for being proven wrong, so go ahead and surprise me! Being all conventional and stuff sure has its limitations, maybe you're on to something big here?![]()
