Very impressive, and a nice departure from the usual CoD / aquarium plant cut n' paste.

so ... I'm thinking of buying the gw battle board thingie.. wondering some things. ...
As you can see I have a lot of big flatbased terrain (even more than I managed to post here ofcourse ).

Is there enough room on these battleboards to place the terrain as you'd like? Between raised areas etc that you can see on the photos... I don't want to have exclude terrain becuase it simply doesnt fit on the board

The benefits is that You can store it away from sight , as the 6'x4' mdf board is huge and cumbersome. The money is about ten times more for the gw thing and you don't want to spend that kind of cash with a product you don't have optimal use for ... what experiences do you have out there ?

Bought the planetscape craters and got quite dissapointed with the lack of details as discussed on warseer before. Painted them up nonetheless... and thought I'd post it here .

So first, the laserburn. Not as impressive cast so I made something more like "boiling blood-crevasse"

As I'm not going to use these as big badaboom planetstrike events I've made them all a bit overgrown and old.

Three more (the spacecraft ones are really not like the white dwarf crisp casts:

The last one was so boring so I turned it upside and made another boiling blood thing. This could also fit a tyranid board I guess. Maybe it is some flesheating plant and dangerous terrain . Trees made from wire and some plaster and dyed yarn.

Mh, bought a grass mat today that I'm going to glue to a wooden gaming table later on so I thought I'd arrange most of my terrain and see what I have sofar and this is it. Have some more pieces that are not quite finished yet but this is it more or less

    Building a folding game table:

Just realized most of the pics of this is a bit rubbish.... but this is what you need .

    ----------------------------------------
two 2' x 6 ' 8 mm mdf board ( so basically a standard board cut in half lenghtwise and som trimming on the sides. Make them do this at the place where you buy the board otherwise very hard to get straight sides I guess.

    Waxed cloth (vaxduk in swedish)
Games workshop cloth gaming mat 4'x6'

Sweet Girlfriend assistant ( might not be necessary but very nice to have around )

Start by placing the boards side by side:

Add the cloth as a "hinge".PVA- Glue and staple it to each board on top and be careful not to glue the boards together by mistake.

This will allow the gaming board to fold up (later grass side pressed against grass side

so, let it dry. I folded it together when drying but put some toiletpaper rolls on the lower one to prevent them glueing together in between or side.

Now glue the gaming mat from gw on top of it all:

And as my girlfriend Catrine is showing, a roller comes in handy:

    Done:

I mixed this with colour and later sand with PVA (cheaper same result) to add some muddy patches

And this is a WIP shot sofar (still need some drybrushing on the gravel):

seems to work great, easy to store away being 60 cmx 180 cm folded and less likely to warp compared to a whole 6'x4' board.

    take care

You're quite the little working bee aren't you ?

Nice work with the board. the only thing I'm not quite convinced by is the gravel, might be the photo though i guess. I think it might look better if the edges against the grass were'nt so sharp, if it was more gradeated.
