    cthulhu project

Well I started to make the rest of my army cthulhu. It is to have Cthulhu, a star spawn, 3 shaggoths, 12 deepones, 2 units of 10 cultists, and 3 hunting horrors.

So far I have made all three shaggoths, but two require some ink glaze to show defininition. They will be using the Plaguerider rules in WHFB.

I have a lot of cultists put together for the most part, but most are lacking some pieces so here are the 2 group srgs. and an extra, pre-GS. They will be using horror rules.

Lastly here is a deepone commander pre-GS. Still need to make some sort of banner and musician for the squad.

I presume you mean shoggoths and not shaggoths?

    Re: cthulhu project

Cthulhu mythos is a creation of H.P. Lovecraft - his later horror works tend to concentrate on men encountering cosmic horrors that are far beyond their understanding. For some details:

    Brilliant!

    Re: cthulhu project

The Cthulhu remind me of the Spaghetti monster (my god, more info here), very well done conversions, I wouldn't say no to a couple of more indepth guides, just for some of the components and such.

Nicely done, and Griefbringer, I think he does mean "shaggoth", as that's what it's spelt like in the books.

Those are stock Brettonian heads apart from the first one, which is off the CW sprue, BTW if there were green stuff, would they not be green?

    Re: cthulhu project

I am quite sure it was shoggoth in the Lovecraft stories that I read (if I am correct they feature at least in the Mountains of Madness, together with the Elder Ones). Shaggoth is Gav Thorpeism.

As for Cthulhu-style heads, there is nothing that cries (or calls) Cthulhu like those tentacted Genestealer heads!

BTW: RAFM makes a line of nasty Cthulhu monsters for those interested, see http://www.rafm.com/cthulhu/index.html - could also be used for all sorts of demons.

I laughed out loud at that. Im a terrible person.

Great cultists, I really like the look of this project. Perhaps different cults (Such as the brotherhood of the yellow sign).

    Maybe some Mi-Go furies/screamers?

Briliant. It's always nice to see Cthulhu miniatures. How did you make the shaggoths?

The Shoggoths (not shaggoth) are nifty looking, cant wait to see the rest painted up. Are you going to create Cthulhu himself?

Are you going to be feilding these as an army or just making the models for KA factor?

I don't know much about cthulu, but I know what I like and I like these minis! I especially like the cultists... that's another potential Chaos Cultist/Traitor conversion source you've found, Bretonnian Men at Arms... hmm that LotD army is getting closer!

Well I have been slumbering quite some time, but Ive risin with an UPDATE! Here is the first unit of 10 horrors, represented as Cultists. They are simply men at arms minor GS and other random pieces. Well they are ready for paint, any suggestions or ideas on color comp?

A special thanks goes out to Blue Table Painting, they sent me the pieces I needed to finnishing at lightning speed. Check them out!

Wow, they look great, very clean GSing, excellent conversions there, particularly the shouting face (from the CW musician?), very well done.
