    old guard codex tanks question.

Quite a few tanks that were in the old imperial guard codex, did not make it into the newer codex . They then re-appeared in things like imperial armour and the armoured company chapter approved list .

Has GW said anywhere IN PRINT that it is still ok to use the older tanks in normal imperial guard armies, as i know they were mainly removed due to space issues[in the codex and in the stores ]. Failing that what are peoples experiences in tournaments and general play with rules lawyering on such matters?

the Griffon is in the IA1 book, it just doesn't have it's own entry - instead it's listed in the Basilisk entry...

Yes, it is in print that you can use the two ousted tanks...*exterminator/griffon*...for the lifre of me I can't remember where...I will rack my brain and look for it..at the time of the new dex there was a supposed comment by someone "official" that if you had the old IG dex you could field these tanks...again I'm not sure where I read that...give me a few days.

lol, join the club- the reason i asked the question is i'm fairly certain its been said officially that they're still good, but can't find anything in writing . I've got a horrible feeling that its in one of third ed faqs which gw don't support on their website anymore-so perhaps chapter approved or the correct wd article is the best place to look .

If that's the case then Regular Guard armies can also include Vanquishers. It was a 0-1 choice in the old 3rd ed Codex.

I hav'nt seen the thing you're refering to but I've heard of it. If you dont find it though IAvol1 specifically states you can use their rules without needing opponents permission or anything...

Although they do advise you to alert your opponent if you're using a super-heavy, so they can plan for it.
