Thread: The Mighty Jungle

    Re: The Mighty Jungle

Here's some of the armour - this is a conversion of a Russian KV-2 kit by trumpeter - a few bits from the imperial tank accessory sprue and the apocalypse command vehicle sprue and away you go. I have three of these "Ragnaroks" - the pattern is unique to the homeworld of the regiment.

Used to count them as demolishers or regular Russes depending on whim. Not sure what to count them as now with all the new Russ variants.

Looks great really like the jungle feel. I've always been doing rocky crags and blue-grey imperial buildings.

    Some constructive criticism for you.
I think the fence could be moved away from the barracks a little bit, seems that it would be hard to move models between the two. "Realism" wise i think anyone who climbed over your fence would now be on your roof.

Nice job on the tanks, its hard to make some of the model kits fit in with the 'heroic' scale of GW.

Sorry for the bluriness - did these in a hurry without a tripod. Better quality pics later.

    Look pretty good,
although i would recommend some grass
to go with the jungle and mud.

    Re: The Mighty Jungle

I would dry brush the mud more with some lighter colors and also recommend the grass as well.
    Very nice lay out.

Nice terrain! However, I'm more partial to your Bretonnian/Cadian models! Good show!

Agreed... needs some grass to finish it off.

Ok folks, will see if I can pick up some more static grass later this week. On a course at the moment, so no more will get done now till next monday at the earliest.

Half expecting to see predator jump out from a tree. Really inspiring stuff there i like it a lot. Gives me something to aspire too.

They are all conversions, a mixture of cadian and bretonnian parts. I'll try and take some better pictures at some point.

No more terrain pics yet, sorry. Got a ton of work on - should have some more at the end of the week though.

    Good choice of army theme

I would love for my Catachans to play on a table like that someday, may even copy a few of your ideas if that's alright with you.

Feel free mate. As it happens I've been working up some catachans today - will see if I can get some more pics up in the next couple of days - terrain is nearly finished now, and I've got a few conversions I'm quite proud of including a version of Bastonne, Harker, and some kickass stormtroopers.

Ok, at long last some more pics.

Firstly, a terrain board with grass added -

Pretty pleased with this, but don't have enough static grass yet to do all the terrain - will wait till I can get some more and do it all in one go. Going to make a helluva mess, but it'll be worth it in the long run.

    The hatch! Quick get Locke.

    Random bit of Jungle

Stormtrooper with black undercoat. Unclear from pic, but using Cadian torso/legs, Catachan arms, West Wind gasmask/beret heads and hellguns made from half a cadian lasgun and half a necron gauss blaster - gun idea pinched from Truskon, here:
    http://warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157572

Gunny Harker, converted from plastic bitz, catachan command, chaos h.bolter, etc etc.

Sergeant Bastonne, converted from catachan command bits, baneblade laspistol, and a bit of old salvaged computer wire to complete the hellpistol feel.

First wave of Terrain is now pretty much done, aside from adding static grass. Will probably leave it there now, at least until planetstrike comes out. Planning a campaign using mighty empires/planetary empires to map out a jungle world. Will probably post how that goes elsewhere. Will also start a log for the catachan army most likely. Thanks guys for your feedback and support - always appreciated. Will leave this log alone for a bit, but will return to add a skyshield defence platform later, and maybe a bastion or two...
