    The Tale of 1 Youngblood!

Hello everyone, This log is to show off all my single mini's.

I'm only a youngblood (14 years old) and hope that this log will really help me improve my painting skills so that next year I can try to win a youngbloods golden daemon.

Hopefully this will get me one step further to actually having a shot at winning.

With that being said here are some "For fun mini's."

The ones that I really focused on is the Sister and the Big Mek, the goff rockerz and telion were just to get something different while painting my armies.

Excellent stuff. Some really nice neat painting and brave highlighting. One thing I would lke to offer as constructive criticism would be to get more definition between the colours. In places (the white Ultramarine symbol onthe blue is an example) this lets the overall look of the mini down.

Still, as a youngblood, I was no where near this good - keep it up

    fantastic!
    The white came out great.
    I like the hair.
The fire is a lil too dark but otherwise great.

    Some really nice work there!

You're definitely on the right track. The bases are great, nicely themed to the model.

I'd try to add a bit more depth in places, ie the ork skin, you could add a few sharper highlights to make it 'pop' more.

    Keep up the good work!

Great job! This log will be very interesting, especially with a goal in mind. Do you mind telling us how old you are?

I think you have proper skill already, at least enough to battle the greater majority of the logs here on warseer.

A great way to learn is to pick a few simple minis, like chaos warrior, night goblins, regular orks or space marines. Then pick the different tecniques you want to learn and apply them. Do one with washes, one with highlight, one with shading and one with drybrushing. Later you can move into more extreme skillz such as blening (the good one), NMM and light reflections. Finaly, take a final one and apply them all, but take your time!

Good Luck, just let us know if you need any special advice!

These are great!! as a youngblood you should be over the moon with these results! My first attempts were not even in the same league as these (using enamel paints, standard art shop brushes, and a pin!). Really excellent work, looking forward to seeing more.

    Certainly true.

Assuming that his avatar is another piece of his work he is a youngblood by no means.

Re: The Tale of 1 Youngblood!

Wow thanks everyone! I really appreciate the comments and the tips.

@Harry, Thanks,I have multiple armies, but they're all really simple. My deathwing and daemons are extensively washed. My necrons are drybrushed, and my tyranids are all dipped. So I guess you could say these are my first "real" painted models.

@Crube, Thanks for the tip and compliment, I should work on my shading a bit more.

    @SonofSanguinus, Thanks!

@BoyMilla, Thanks, and the Ork looks better in real life, he actually has a bunch of green layers on him but the pictures don't show it at all but I see where you're coming from.

@Leonathion, Thanks man! I'm only 14 years old, so I only have this next year to win the youngbloods. I've actually tried a bunch of the easier techniques with my armies. Now I'm trying to get more quality in them. It would be awesome if you, or anyone for that matter could give me some tips for blending. Usually all the daemon winner models are blended. Not to much in youngbloods but If I could pull it off it would be awesome!

    @Hjalmar Cirkus@ Thanks a lot!

@Daniel 36, Thanks that means a lot to me.

@75Hastings69, Thanks, I'm glad you like em.

@Malorian, Thanks, the nid is mine, but they're not very good. I used dipping to paint the army because I couldn't face painting that many models.

Just if anyone wanted to see my armies, here are some army pics. If you want to see more check out my other logs.

Daemons: Me and my brother (Light of the Emperor) are doing this army together. We call the tzeentch skittles as they are so bright. More stuff has been added to the army as well. I painted the nurgle, 1/2 of the horrors, and the bloodletters.

Celestial Lions: Counts as deathwing, they're 1st company.

    Necrons:

Thanks again, and I'm hoping to start painting some of the chaos over the weekend.

Well they may be dipped but those Nids look fantastic. What a great army.

    I can't believe you are only 14.
I am 30 years older and I would be happy if my sisters turn out like the one in your first post.

Do get into more extreem highlights.
Do have a play with the new inks.
Do read tutorials and experiment with things.

Do keep painting ... Your doing just fine.

Re: The Tale of 1 Youngblood!

Thanks for the comments guys, it's really cool that you like them.

Change of plans from the chaos warriors. I'm currently working on a kislev miniature. I hope to get some WIP shots tommarow. Hopefully you guys can tell me what else to do, because he's seeming a bit to easy right now.

    Thanks,

Re: The Tale of 1 Youngblood!

As promised here are some WIP pics, he was painted blue first but I wanted a more striking contrast with his snow base that he'll get in the future.

I'm not sure if I'm liking how he's coming out so far. The red, fur, blue and skin are finished unless anyone has a suggestion for me to try out.

Don't worry the blue boots are going.

Re: The Tale of 1 Youngblood!

    Thanks guys,

I managed to finish the Kislev model. He's not my best work but he'll do for now. His base will get switched in the future but it gets the job done.

    Ignore the bad pictures,
