Those bombers come from a store called GZG- they have their own starship combat system called Full Thrust, which is actually quite nice in it's own right. Lots of BFG compatible stuff on the online store, here's a link for some fighters and bombers to whet your appetite:

BFG kustomizashuns... wicked cool stuff mate.

The only Ork BFG conversions I ever did was to buy Epic Battlewagon hulls and stick them on Epic fighta bomba wings, to make some more brute ram ships... I bet if you started with that concept you'd probably make it ridiculously good... The other thing was to get polystyrene spheres from hobbycraft and turn them into Ork Roks. Oooh, do some Roks, you know you want to!

The warzone guardsmen look very good, really nice work. Also the heavy weapon guns, great stuff.
For every hundred pathetic miscreants that die whimpering under the enemy guns one mad killer emerges triumphant, screaming his insane anger.

Haha thanks for the confidence in my abilities! I have tried several times to make Roks but they looked rubbish- on the plus side its where I got the inspiration for my scratchbuilt Terrorships (still WIP). I actually have 7 Fighta Bommers that I proxy for Ravagers- I just love them so much I couldn't get rid of 'em when I sold my Epic stuff.

I would like to see those Ramships, Dannage, feel free to put some pictures here!

Thanks very much, I am very happy with how the Warzone figs have turned out. The heavy weapons have evolved slightly but they need 60mm bases and a LOT of work on their rear ends. I am planning to put sandbags and random junk heaped around them as makeshift barricades, turn them into mini dioramas if I can.

Okay, if you insist, but they're really nothing special. I didn't tool them up or convert them in any way, I just took the two pieces and glued them together. Probably the easiest/laziest conversion in the history of man!

    Your in trouble now Jihad.

I had almost completely forgot about the GZG, I bought a couple of platoons way way back, now I'm going to have to get more, because you've just reminded me how much I liked the stuff they made.

Bwahahahaaaaa Sorry to lead you down new paths of miniature goodness, my friend. Actually, after you posted that message I browsed eBay and found some interesting stuff- if I win the bids you will see 'em here!

I was also looking at GZG platoon packs... That's your fault!

I love Savage Gunboats- in one battle a squadron of 4 attacked 2 Dauntless light cruisers head on and Locked On- killed 1 and crippled the other, now THAT'S fun! Ravagers are some of my favourite escorts tho, if I use these ones along with my converted ones and Fighta Bommer proxies that's 14 of the swine!

Onslaught attack ships and Ramships- If I were to repaint anything it would be the Ramships, they have a few chips and dull bits on them. You have to love D6 FP on the Onslaughts.

I have around 3000 points of Battlefleet Gothic Orks and love every one of them. Their all ahead full and damn the consequences approach makes playing them relatively straightforward too haha! Not saying I win that often tho!

+++Alert! Ork warships on intercept course! All crew to battlestations, this is no drill!+++

Ahhh I know how you feel... My favourite game involved the torpedo escort ships. I launched a literal wall of torpedoes across the table, following closely behind them. My chaos opponent didn't want to face all the missiles and veered off to avoid them, so then I ended up facing their rear armour... Mwuha ha haaa.....

I only say that because most of the games I played I was facing Space Marine Battlebarges and failing to roll any sixes... Curse those ships...

Re: BFG Imperials, Scratchbuilt Orks and 17th Flexeberg IG!

Thank you, Captain, always appreciating your comments.

This one is for EasyE- a very simple tutorial that I hope serves to motivate all you potential scratchbuilders!

Here you have all the primary components for making an escort sized vessel. Roughly human in design and origin. Heh. The recipe is as follows and also in the order of assembly:

2 pieces of sprue, one piece half the length of the other. This will be the prow. The longer section is also broader, but the two combined are actually snug and streamlined. You could probably file and trim a piece to fit if you can't find such sizes yourself.

1 rectangle of thin plasticard that the prow is glued down the centre of. It makes for a firm platform for all the pieces glued behind it.

1transparent piece of sprue that you get with flight stands.

1 length of tube- I used parts of a pen for mine but any tubing will do. This is the main hull.

Finally, a triangular section of plastic that fits under the tube hull. This deepens the hull profile nicely and tapers away towards the drive section. I used a piece of plastic that I found on a building site. Easily carved into! Any plasticard will do the same tho.

For the prow sprue I used the Chaos weapon sprue you get with Battlefleet Gothic. The varying widths and depths are ideal.

Here's a finished vessel to highlight some of the instructions. Note that the prow has an overbite, achieved by the half length piece of sprue. I add thin plasticard for hull plating (also covers the glue lines).

Also, more plasticard goes onto the bridge (arrowed) to represent the forward windows. IMPORTANT: there is actually another piece of plasticard under this piece of sprue- I added it to cover a gap that appeared between the bridge and hull tube. You may not have to

Finally, some tank track links were glued to the kength of bridge for some detailing, along with random pieces along the hull.

Job done! Hope you peeps like this, please do let me know if it helps!

Re: BFG Imperials, Scratchbuilt Orks and 17th Flexeberg IG!

    Hello everyone

Lt. Erasmus Fall, Bravo Company 17th Flexeberg Infantry. Note the officer's chainsword and lasblaster- quite rare considering the preference for auto guns amongst most Flexeberg.

I fashioned a respirator out of milliput- the photo makes it look truly rubbish but hopefully once finished it should be okay- I am adding a rimmed helmet so he fits in with his troops.

Hope you're all well, feel free to rip into Lt. Fall

Great wee scratchbuild tutorial there and a nice simple looking ship, any chance of a scale shot next to a normal cruiser? I actually quite like the canvas bag style of your respirator, I'm sure it'll look great with some paint on it.

The tutorial is certainly enlightening. Sprue is too useful.

Sprue ships. I think I might have enough parts for a 50 billion point sprue ship fleet.

Very imaginative stuff and from a Scot too. Whod have thunk a Scot could invent anything........oh ....wait...

For you, my friend- as you will see it matches a Cobra Destroyer's displacement pretty much dead on. Bit 'fat' to fit that theme tho.

Hahaha yeah! I had originally thought about making sprue 'skeletons' and just glueing random bitz and plasticard plating to them but went for the current look instead.

Well now, for you, my friend we have these:

Here's a size comparison with an Imperial cruiser- you can see the intimidating Ork ship idea nicely here.

There you go guys, thank you so much for all your comments and I hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far! I hope to go the cinema tonight- either The Hangover or Public Enemies.

Peace out to all of ya!

Re: BFG Imperials, Scratchbuilt Orks and 17th Flexeberg IG!

Hahaha touche, my friend! This I shall certainly do for you as soon as I can, thanks for the comment! For the Emperor! And Squigs!

Aaaaaaaanyway- here is a dodgy shot of what I plan to be the end for my Flexeberg, at least for now.

The pile of sprues will round out my platoon to 45 men inc. command and extra weapons teams. And all for £20.00, gotta love Warzone for that alone!

Also three scratchbuilt lascannons. I got a free big box of bitz from an old boss including lots of little sandbags so I improvised these las emplacements for your inspection.

And finally a scratchbuild Firecontrol Swordwind Frigate that I finally got around to finishing. Notice the scratchbuilt turrets on the sides of the hull- my first attempt at such things, dunno if they come out in the photo tho.

I would like to hear comments and criticisms on anything you see on these pages. Please speak up, guys, you complete me! Speak ya soon!
