The OUDF troops are looking very nice. I could definitely see a whole guard regiment in those colours.
The gargant is looking good too, as Gomez says a few bits of brighter colours in key areas (such as the eyebrows) and he'll look really great.
The battlecruiser is looking excellent, the bit of extra bulk on the jaw has definitely worked to the good. Also like Gomez, I'd say keep the escorts, nothing stopping you making more as well of course, but I'd keep those ones too!
WOW, FIVE STARS AGAIN?!! Dunno if I deserve such praise but my deepest thanks to all who vote here! If anyone hasn't then please do, it helps encourage me!
Thank you everyone for your kind words!
Gomez, I will build up the feet as you have some good points. Eventually they will be sunk into a base so not going to go TOO crazy but will still broaden them out and add piping to the 'shins'.
Very interesting points raised by Dragonlord and OOC on the paintjob- I have commenced blocking in some Baal Red zig zag pattern and Sunburst yellow on the teeth.
I was thinking the face and brows red but not much of the remainder of the head- leave it metal. Also, maybe add a lower strip of jagged red leaving a bare band in the middle? Hopefully this pic shows what I mean.
Thoughts? If anyone fancies photoshopping suggestions I would be keen to see them posted here!
Glad the OUDF Mercs have gone down so well. Mr Kibbles- I had totally intended to go for AusCam but the sculpts were just too 'busy'- lots of kit and body armour that I felt wanted a different scheme. I do have another squad of grunts coming tho- they will DEFINITELY be camo'd up! P.S. People, please don't tempt me to start on Guard again
ALSO- a fresh shot of the JuggaMork and attendant escorts after I redid their paintjobs.
Any comments, criticisms and suggestions gratefully received- can I just say that it's thanks to you chaps that the Hammer BC turned out so well. Plus the latest OUDF would never have been painted if it wasn't for your nagging for updates in generalStay safe, everyone.

But those OUDF are so good. I mean you could use the oudf as guard really when you think about it, you just need to do more, and you clearly have a knack for ummies... go on... just a few. I might even have some here you could play around withP.S. People, please don't tempt me to start on Guard again
And the juggamork looks awesome, what mores there to be said.
Regarding that last PM - what I actually meant was use Firestorm Armada as a base, but otherwise its a free for all (as Ive had a rather nifty idea about converting my Soryilians). Vipers and Raptors and X wings for all!

I am really pleased with this piece- it's used up a whole load of 1:72 scale Tiger tank bodies and Bradly APC bits. The painting method was something new I wanted to try after seeing it on these forums- drybrushing metallics then blocking in paint leaving the dges showing. Still needs basing but I'm calling him pretty much done for now. Hope you like it!
Manufactured primarily by Australian based industries, power armoured suits like these met mixed success during the war with Indonesia. Although simple to maintain the 'Oddman' suits were bulky and slow and proved easy meat to Indo manufactured power armour in the thick jungles.
6 strong squads proved unwieldy and were broken down into trios shortly after this vid capture was taken.
Load outs seen here are Smart missile racks and thermal casters. One Oddman unit is fitted with a rotary cannon for higher rates of fire at close quarters- a direct response to the thermal caster's problems with maintaining focus upon fast moving Indo power armour.
The Oddman units proved effective at long range support for infantry and maintained successful defences in several battles. The Indo power armour could not compete across open ground and at long range but it would take the acquisition of NAC power armour before the OUDF could combat them on their own terms.
Yes, I painted the Eggs on Legs! They've turned out pretty nice, definitely good tabletop quality anyway. As ever the photos have obliterated some of the nicer aspects of the paintjob but I am happy they turned like this. My first real attempt at painting camouflage actually, hope you like it.
Next on the agenda is this large robot from GZG with an infantryman for scale purpose (actually, looking forward to Auscamoing that boonie hated fella!).
Any criticisms, compliments, suggestions or requests very gratefully received, people! Don't forget to vote haha!
P.S. I am still thinking about Guardsmen...

Nicce mech suits, are you making anymore Bionicle head ships? They look cool, you should make a bionicle head fleet. Have you seen Firestorm Armada yet?

Thank you, kindly
Hey Laz, I will definitely check out your Nids! Thanks for the kind words, glad you like the suits. Yeah, I've been talking to Gomez about Firestorm actually but my problem is time and money- jobhunting and Indian cookery night classes are eating most of my painting time just now.
A Bionicle Head fleet... That sounds like an interesting idea...
Today's lesson! Chicken Tikka! Very nice it was too!
Guys, I have finished off some Falchion Escorts for my Imperial Navy. They make excellent anti-ordinance boats- their strength 1 torp still explodes entie waves of ordinance (thanks to Horizon for pointing this out).
They are rather boatlike but the Exorcist was too and people liked that so hopefully you'll like these! I enjoyed using up BFG antenna to detail the hull and the prows are my favourite pieces- they match up with my light cruiser builds too.
Comments and criticsms very much appreciated, gentlemen! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends!

Where have you been, man? Very quiet these days- I hope all is well with youGlad you liked the eggs, I was pleased with how much better they looked once they were painted! Once they're based this will hopefully improve them further. Can't motivate myself to do all that milliputting yet tho
Minor update: I was looking at my Imperial ships today and realised I have too many redundant ship types- I don't NEED 3 Lunars and my Armageddon pattern ships are somewhat pointless to me too as they don't fit in with my fluff. Apart from the light cruisers of course
So today I started reallocating guns and lances to create a Gothic and a Tyrant class cruiser. They will be repainted and the Tyrant needs new antenna. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SPARE FLYING BASE?? I ALSO NEED A SWORD FRIGATE!!
Next update I will post some Auscamo'd OUDF Infantry (final squad) and hopefully some NAC power armour. I sliced my finger tip while renovating the cruisers so this implies I should not do any modelling work just now. Oh yeah, and I'll paint the Falchions too![]()

I have to say, I never liked the eggs much model wise, when I've seen them unpainted.. a lick of paint though, and I think I prefer them over the NAC power suits.
The finished gargant is looking rather nice, and I must say that the camo on the eggs looks excellent. As I probably said I wasn't a great fan of them unpainted, but with the camo on I rather like them, so kudos for that
The falchions are looking good too (as does the curry for that matter), the naval destroyer look quite suits them I think, though I might be picky and say the prows need torpedo tubes!I think the only real criticism I would make is of the smoke launchers on the back, they look like they are supposed to be engines, but the fact they splay out looks kind of odd.
Fair enough, though Lunars are supposed to be the most common type of cruiser, I rather like Lunars anyway. They look good though, I'm impressed with the fact you don't seem to have damaged them at all in removing the weapons to swap them round, or were they magnetized already?Originally Posted by Jihad_Ragsta

This is exactly what I was thinking initially. I have them on my shelf now and must say its pretty nice looking at them and appreciating how much better they look. I think the NAC ones will have more infantry like camo as they are much skinnier and more nimble looking.
Glad you like the Gargant, he is my favourite scratchbuild just now! I also love the paintjob despite how simple it was- I may well use it in the future on more junka mechs or whatever.
You have a fair point about the Falchions... I will probably add some fins to the splayed out bits to make it look less like a sprinkler. Dude, there IS some damage to the hulls buts it underneath where you can't see- I WISH I'd just blu tacced the bays in now! I cut my dinger tip as well but its all good now- the Imperium was built with the blood of martyrs you know.
Will PM you about the bases, thanks man! Oh, and I drilled the torpedo holes for you too!
Bionicle Head Fleet, I can't think WHAT you mean. It means nothing to me, and there's nothing in the post either, no there isn't
I must apologise- there was zero progress on painting because I am a bad panda who might have gone to the pub instead
What I HAVE done is finally worked out the revised and tactically sensible Imperial Fleet that I want. And best of all I don't need to buy anything new!
WIP Armageddon class battlecruiser. This used to be a Lunar with ugly bridge and nova cannon but its been totally rebuilt.
-New prow- needs detailing with plasticard but its getting there.
-Wing 'shields' made from plasticard and model railway fences.
-Totally scratchbuilt bridge using track links aplenty.
As mentioned, the prow needs alot of detailing but I think this will turn out as a nice little tie in between my regular Imperials and the light cruisers with their chunky prows. Comments and criticisms welcomed, everybody!
Thanks for looking, hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm going to watch Mock the Week and QI on iPlayer now. Tara!

See, told you I'd get round to it! Ded eefishunt I iz!
Chirst didnt think it'd been that long, right, from the beginning!
The gargant looks class, looks kinda cheerful to me. Should look great based although you'll have to put some orks running around underneath.
Really like the eggs on legs, although surely 'eggman' was a more appropriate nameIf you get these based up be sure to post them again. Oh and the same goes for the OUDF, they should look pretty snazzy together. Have to admit I'm not massively enamoured with the big robot but thats because it isnt egg shaped.
Thing is, because of the size of the bases theres no reason why you couldn't double these up as guardsmen for 40k. They'd probably sit better using some kind of Imunda or Necromunda thingie.. hmmm..
Dinner looks nice, I approve of its tastiness although definately chinesse or italian next time!
Your right, the boat looks worked out really well on the falchions. Is that a model jerry can you've used behind the prows (or whatever the fronty bits called). The back looks a little... odd though, get us a better pic!
Why didnt you PM me about a flying base bud, got a few somewhere if your still stuck.
Gothic and Tyrant look great, but you know we all expect you to produce exceptional scratchbuilds now and this fancy straight from the box buisness just isnt going to cut itThey looks good although I think the left one looks a little odd with the mix of colors.
The armageddon looks nice but... I dunno. Besides the prow needing detailing as you've already said it needs something else. Definately one for a beard stroke and a think but I'll get back to you.
Maybe the side fins need to be closer to the ship, and possibly a little bigger. Hmmm...
Anyway I shall endeavor to pull my finger out and paint my firestorm, you should have said that you were a fellow dole brotherwouldnt have bloody pestered you about it.
Anyway *cracks whip* more painted things! More scratch builds!
It has been implied and Gomez demands it be so!Glad you like the Gargant, he is my favourite scratchbuild just now! I also love the paintjob despite how simple it was- I may well use it in the future on more junka mechs or whatever.

Lazuli- That's actually a tank track you can see, not Lego. Although I DO have three boxes of Lego and it seems a shame to let them just sit there gathering dust...
The missiles are actually Chaos BFG lance turrets- I always liked the quad railgun look so slapped them onto my BC there. Armageddon cruisers are usually renovated Lunars anyway so I'll just say the lances came from looted Traitor ships.
You misunderstood me, young Padawan- I meant that I HAVE bought Bionicle bits and I WILL build a BIONICLE HEAD FLEET. Gomez, this is your fault too for demanding more scratchbuilds!
Gomez- I love my Gargant!! I don't have any Epic Orks tho, shame. He will get based at some point (and the two smaller Gargants- who look totally intimidated now by the way).
Haha yep- those ARE jerrycans in the Falchion prows! :P You guys have said you don't like the sterns so I'll post some modifications here ASAP.
Thx for the comments on the cruisers- the fleet will be getting a new paintjob to match the light cruisers you've seen previously so don't worry about the multiple colours
The Armageddon... After your comments I sat there and stroked my own beard (I really should grow one instead of stroking a metaphorical beard- my friends say I would look awesome with a beard). The wings DO need some padding and I will sit down with some plasticard to achieve this.
By the way, I am currently Milliputting my entire OUDF force's bases to blend them in with the 2ps they're mounted on. This has proved annoying as there are dozens of the little blighters! So the entire force SHOULD be based by this weekend!
Thank you so much for your comments, it really helps me work on this stuff!![]()

The bridge on the Armaggeddon looks very nice, I'm less sure about the prow at the moment, it definitely needs some more work. The fins could also do with a little something, but exactly what I'm not quite sure, maybe take in the bottom of the front of them a little so the edges aren't just straight vertical?
