So much to do! I have a cupboard full of Eldar to build and paint on top of what I mentioned. I am defo building another Nightwing soon and I might end up doing a Phoenix now too!

But that's alright! I love Eldar!

Lovely Phoenix you have there. I really like how the underside is more aerodynamic than the FW Phoenix. Theirs has too much boxy crap hanging down.

For his next piece of craft, Bonesinger Fable will make a Vampire Hunter... out of THREE Razorwing kits!

If I did it wouldn't be for some time and a whole lot more practice with plasticard. I was drinking iced tea when I read your post and almost choked to death. Making a Vampire... that's a bit scary of a prospect.

It would definitely be a project I hold off unti after I move.

BTW, thanks, Chris, for the compliment. I hope you're right. So far the feedback has been positive so I'm really jazzed working on this particular project. I probably won't have much time to paint on Thursday or Friday, but I'm thinking I can get it done Saturday. In the mean time here is where the Phoenix stands since I've started painting:

I added the extra runes at the rear of the wings along with the lightning that I planned to add. I like the runes and one is more oriented towards craftworld and one the Dark Kin. I considered adding a rune to the other black panel as well, but then thought it would just make it look too busy once it's all painted.

You can see I've decided to add the anti-gravity ribbing to the bottom side of the wings (along with the small engines from the bottom of a Falcon) to bring it more in line with the look of the FW one. It gives it a little more heft, but I really liked the look of it.

I like it, your free hand is also very impressive, the red runes at the rear of the wings really help add interest to the model without being too bold that they draw attention from the overall model.

Damn! That looks excellent! How does it look from the front with the Grav Ribbing added?

I'll get a pic of that up later today. I didn't realize I didn't post one last night. Because of its size I keep expecting it to be heavier than it is, but it's a very light kit. I'd venture to say it's far lighter than the FW kit, which appears to be more of a solid chunk of resin.

Not a great angle, but you get the idea. I got very little work done tonight because of a n appointment after work, and the same for tomorrow, so I'll probably be finishing it up on Saturday and posting completed pics on Sunday.

Ok, guys, I'm going to be splitting this between two separate posts so I can include the shots I want to include as I have finished my project and have converted the Razorwing into a Phoenix Bomber Avendasora (any WOT fans should appreciate that):

While I can say I saw some variations of the Razorwing counting as or turned into a Nightwing I was unable to find any images of anyone converting one into a Phoenix, so without having anyone else's experience to base this off of I'm really happy with how it turned out and I think I pretty much laid out a blueprint here in the log if anyone else wants to try it. It should be noted that I took this shot from a slightly forward angle so you could actually see the Pulsar. If I took the shot directly from above you wouldn't be able to see it. It ends about a hair's breadth before the curve at the nose of the Phoenix.

Here's a short from the underside. For the most part I kept it simple and relatively uncluttered, but I think there's enough there to keep it from being boring.

The other shots will be in my follow up post.

Thanks, guys. I'm still really happy with how it came out and I got to unleash it this last weekend. I also managed to complete a little more low-hanging-fruit so to speak:

The second prism has had its turret revamped. I've also dullcoted all the vehicles in my army now after some touch-ups to them so there are only a handful of infantry units still needing to be done (just the Scorpions, Banshees and Dark Reapers I think).

    Re: Fable's Ulthwe Army

While I'm working on the low hanging fruit I've also started work on my Corsairs. To start off I've got my pirate princess:

As you can see I didn't do any conversion work on the model, but it will get a unique paint job as is more fitting for the pirates.

I also started the Void Dreamer:

I smoothed out the brain wrinkles for a Ghosthelm like helmet and I tried to make the streamers, which I hope to get a light stream effect from, for a Neural Shredder and a Void Sabre.

These are the first two Finecast models I've ever gotten and both of them were flawless. I didn't need to do any green stuff. The biggest issue I had was the bend in the Princess' sword. I've read accounts from people that they've had to do so much GS work on the models that it was as if they were sculpting their own models. My experience, however, was entirely positive, especially for the small conversion. Cutting through them accurately is so much easier.

Touche. I thought about painting the sabre stained with blood, but opted against it. I just shaved them off after I clipped off the angled slivers of flash at the bottom. I considered it just part of the cleaning process.

She's one piece. The Medusae is 2 pieces, body and head, though it comes with two different head options for you to choose from.

    Re: Fable's Ulthwe Army

I've been keeping busy working on a few small projects all at one time. I started painting the Void Dreamer and felt like the upper dome of the helmet was too bland and GS'd some spirit stones on it. I also came across a spare Eldrad Ulthran model I had adopted at some point in the past. I had done an odd painting job on it but had retired it. So now I've brought it back and refitted it to be a Bel-Annath model from IA11:

Now I just need to get around to painting it. For those who appreciate old school flair the model's left hand comes from one of the original Harlequins.

I also had a small cat-related model dropping incident that resulted in the front prow of one of my wave serpents snapping. Rather than work to repair it I decided to remove it and remove one from one of my other two standard WSs as well. The one on the Warlock's Wave Serpent (the command tank) can stay as it really makes that one look more pimped out and ornate. This also inspired me to get to work on my third standard Wave Serpent, my fourth all together. I figured I'd also make a go of trying to make these tanks look slightly less uniform and add in something marking each one out, so I added a series of stripes on each one:

    Thoughts?
