Run!Run! Skaven Coming!

Right a whole 2 skaven battle force boxsets has sat in my room for long enough and yes true i have been doing orcs so every good reason but i feel it is about time my skaven got a fighting chance!

The idea im going with is that the army is very undead based like hopefully i will have skaven in back ranks coming out the ground due to the love of clan pestilence. Even the grey seer is formed like a plague preist sorta guy.

Right i will have to double post here as theres a few pictures to start off with! Going to start painting tonight.

right first answer here is i basically started painting it not long ago and well lets just say i havent been to well lately so i kinda stopped myself before i started screwing it all up so not to get it all over the model instead just the end of the tail.

and bob my dear boy i actually have to defend the skaven here as ive had the skaven since i was 18 years of age and im now 21. i kinda gave upn on them to play lotr battle game and that went craps up! lol

but yes i agree no orcs would you find running from a dwarf!

anyways time for the pictures! and what ive been upto today! well no painting as of yet til hopefully later on, but i have returned to the hatred sport of assembling clan rats, all 20 of them bad times indeed

last night i assembled the remaining 10 plaguie monks making my army have a total of 40 i love them they look so evil!

ive also managed to make a unit of giant rats extra so i have one packmaster who got to have a giant bunch of rats and a giant rat! lucky him.

Census bearers looking cool, the one on the far right reminded me of Donatello from TMNT for some reason...

I like your cold green, it goes very well with the snow bases. The grey assassin is a nice change from the usual, and the censer bearer conversions look very promising.

in fairness ive not exactly been cheap as ive got some legs with no use now

and btw to people, the censer bearers arent actually close to being finished yet as always with my models!
cleric calm on the painting front im just sorting out where the skaven are gonna go in my room and i will paint something but i dont know what. any ideas?

Get some core choices painted up to give a basic colour scheme, then you can spend time on your other nice additions and tweak the scheme to how you want, still stuck on what to use for my dwarfs- orange atm!

well im gonna have a go at the ratling gun i think, plus im going to work on my plague monks ive decided. maybe even have a start on grey seer.

cheers greatly Gargobot, yeah well the assassin was going on the idea of the snow bases due to fact i love the idea of lots of blood in the snow!
the annoying thing is the next plague monk unit wont be as well done as i no longer have green ink what gave them the gloossy sorta slime ridden green i wanted!

its really simple aswell, it was rotten flesh basecoat followed by a wash twice over with green ink! mind you i want the second unit to have a slight different colouration so im thinking a kind of brownish green.

and as for censers ive seen people just due cride conversions of a plague monk and i didnt want that for mine, i wanted the essence of these kind of gribby old monks with proper hunchbacks.

By god its like i only posted yesterday with some pictures when im doing it again! by jove these ratmen have got me hooked!

anyways yes as i am now in a smidge of a lil competition against colonel cleric and his dwarfs and who can get them done fastest!

anyways as hopefully im doing so i have been painting some parts of my ratling gun, grey seer and plague priest who i always find no need for in a game but i am mesmerized to paint said model everytime i see it!

correction youve got your only weapon that is thorek lol. wait that means you aint using dwarves tonight then? or are you im confused here.

yeah im also started painting a couple rat orges and a night runner concept job with the night leader model of the unit.

im quite liking the skin, i will show you the grey seer tonight when we have the game as ive done a rate good job on him. been steady as anything with my hand on this one.

i think i have a thing for making more ffort on models who use magic. also ive started my warlock engineer over again. so tonight the plague priest will be a stand in for him.

still need the 750pt list aswell as the 2000pt?

ahhh see thats where ive caught you out there my dear friend! im currently under planning stages of sed screamy bell. but as you will notice that his base is not gravelled it is actually woodenised like decking!

i am making the screaming bell with a gap to fit his base in and then when it is destroyted. god forbid it is i will be able to sit him down on the board nice and easy but for today just a grey seer involved as im yet to grasp whats good in my army!
