The Start of a Throng


Now, as always when i start painting an army, i get distracted and buy another one.

This time the stunties took my fancy and the first wave of them have arrived today.

At the early stages that this is, i still havnt sorted out a colour scheme for them but im thinking of green cloth with brass or gold armour/trims.

My army choices, modelwise:

Heroes/Lords:

• Thorek + Kraggi
• Thane on Oath Stone
• Thane with BsB
• Master Engineer

Core:

• 48 Warriors (24 unmade, may convert)
• 10 Quarrellers
• 10 Thunderers
• 10 Thunderers

Special:

• Cannon
• Cannon
• Bolt Thrower
• Bolt Thrower
• 9 Miners
• 17 Hammerers
• 30 Slayers

Rare:

• Organ Gun
• Organ Gun
• Gyrocopter

The army list i have written up is a Thorek gunline, just to irritate my friends since they try to cheese out their armies each week- its my turn.

Thorek:
Needs repainting, finished up modeling the base with undead scum as well as having Thorek smashing up a skeleton (nice).



Kraggi:
Playing around with skulls in the furnace..



Warmachines:
Basic colour scheme, keeping them simple.



Gyrocoplane:
I basically couldnt stick the wings together to make it a copter, so i opted for a plane conversion! Not the best looking thing, but different and i like it.

Craig, the gyroplane didnt have the barrel underneath, any wheels or a propellar!!!!

It was just some wings on the side of a seat with a dwarf in it, now it 'could' actually work!

For tonight, im repainting up Thorek and his Anvil/guards- just the base atm.

Update Time:

Patched up the rest of Thorek and his little guards.
Dont really enjoy the look of Dwarfs overall, i think i need to get a good colour scheme still, consisting of golds/greens and the overall army should look decent.

I like the anvil, I like the dwarf that is smahing the skeleton. The gyrocopter looks also good.

looing goood sam but i have to ask why is there blood under the skeleton corspes?

have you chosen a colour scheme yet then for the dwarfs?

Who says its skeletons?

I just wanted to see BLOOD, so maybe a dwarf got killed there and the guards buried them, obviously not moving the skeletons cos they dont care.

Colour scheme im still working on, once i get one though i should be rolling through the models.

Gonna try more test models soonish.

Maybe the horns are a bit bright (could be the lighting though), other than that kick-ass-painting.

Edit: It was the lighting, now it's pure kick-ass-painting.

Dwarf Test Model, not sure whether i like it, best ive done so far and looks a lot better in person IMO.

Got a better picture of the Anvil too with some better light.

Does it work, would it look good on a whole army?

Suggestions for different colours i could use with bronze/gold look.

I like the green-metal-gold/bronze scheme.

Metallic colours on warmachines are awesome! How were they made? With washes?
