Thanks, though those were both the client's ideas. I definitely agree that they both work really well. And thanks Gonfrask and Complicity for the compliments!

Finished my first diorama or big display base thing. What do you think? The snow was a headache but I'm happy with the result.

It's being listed on ebay, starting at $0.99 with no reserve. I'm moving from California to NYC soon and don't want to carry it, so it's up for grabs. Would love to pass it on to an appreciative new owner.

Finally finished the Tallarn commission! Sorry for some lousy photos, I'm still waiting to sit down and actually figure out how to use my new camera without just snapping horrible shots and messing with them in Picassa.

Great looking Tallarn army. I myself am currently working on a Tallarn force for Armies on Parade.

Just found your log, and I wanted to say it looks amazing. I especially love the dinosaur vehicle proxies; been thinking of doing something like that myself with the WHFB giant spider kit. This just might be the kick in the rear I need.

This has to be without a doubt, one of the most amazing threads I think I've laid eyes on in such a long time. All the converting, I can't even begin to list everything I love, but the painting as well is very nice, the conversions are all spot on, the dinoriders and tallarn ogryns, the mamoth manticore and triceratops artillery... this is what dreams are made of. And on top of that the scene with the catachans on the board looks amazing. You sir are an absolute legend! I love EVERYTHING.

Except yellow plasma, but thats just me. Again, amazing job and a fantastic thread.

Re: Beer, Guns and Dinosaurs: A Catachan Log

Thanks for all the compliments - hope you're ready for more Catachan! First off is a flamer. As I said when posting my last Necromunda Escher conversions I'm not a fan of forcing female models into regiments, but since I was given the Catachan grenade launcher girl it seemed strange to have only one.

And with the new Allies rules I've decided to make an allied Grey Knights detachment. All of these besides the first are still in progress!

Vindicare Assassin (on far right). A Catachan master sniper who operates on his own in battle.

Inquisitor Coteaz. A platoon commander who lost all of his squadmates and now fights on his own. Carries a thunder hammer and a scrap of Leman Russ armor. Followed by a vulture (counts-as psyber eagle) who feeds on the bodies he leaves in his wake.

Crusaders. Like the guy above, they're surviving members of slaughtered squads. Each one carries a shield and power weapon taken from the race responsible for leaving them that way. Will take individual photos when they're done.

Henchmen. Simply Catachan armed with boltguns.

Dreadnought. Construction-modified Sentinel armed with a multi-melta, heavy flamer and cc weapon.

The Dreadnought will be painted like this. I made this for a Genestealer Cult commission and wanted to replicate it as a Dreadknight for this detachment, but couldn't have two Elites.

And if you want to look at more, I have a bunch of terrain themed to fit my Catachan and Tyranid armies over here. Hope you enjoy!

Dig the dreadnought sentinel. Good to see this log still going.

Thanks Cap'n. Still all in progress, and I'm missing some paints, but here's more progress.

    Coteaz and the Crusaders:

    Henchmen and the flame trooper:

    Construction Sentinel:

Had my first game with the allies... they did pretty much nothing. They're not an optimal game choice, but I picked them for fun modeling and looks. Better luck next time!

Re: Beer, Guns and Dinosaurs: A Catachan Log

Thanks for the compliments! Here's some hobby-related ebay auctions that you guys might have some interest in.

The wonderful camera I've taken almost all my mini photos ever with, currently at $8. Even the $75 BIN is a steal.

Some InstantMold Oyumaru stuff which will blow your mind while simultaneously saving you money on bitz and making your conversions instantly better, also attracting women.

My Slann Mage Priest which needs a good home. Gotta love them tropic colors.

Thanks for putting up with my hawking, I'll get back to posting minis as soon as I can get some Devlan Mud and Badab Black (or whatever the new equivalents are) to finish them off.

Re: Beer, Guns and Dinosaurs: A Catachan Log

Lots of new Catachan! Still not happy with my lighting and macro photography, but least it lets me see all the little details I need to eventually fix...

First up the five Crusaders with power weapons and storm shields. Yes, I noticed the Chaos guy's floating wonky eye! He's not tainted by the ruinous powers! Each model corresponds with one of my armies, my brother's armies, or one of our friend's armies.

Here's Coteaz, who runs with the Crusaders:

    The whole squad together:

Eight boltgun henchmen, one with a flamer as well:

    The construction Sentinel 'Dreadnought':

    Vindicare Sniper:

Re: Beer, Guns and Dinosaurs: A Catachan Log

All 500 points of allies. Clearly not chosen for a tactical advantage!

And a few models for the rest of the army. Added a blade to the powerfist (making it a power weapon) of old pegleg sarge, plus some flowers for his base.

Turned one of my old snipers into a flamer:

    And finished the flamer female:

Here's the entire army as it stands with allies:
