    EmperorNorton's Overabundance of Projects

Since I can't focus for long on any one given project and because spreading what little progress I make over several logs makes it look all the more pitiful I have decided to start a new log for everything. Everything!

While I am not a great painter I try my best and even more to get better. Please keep in mind that mediocre painters have feelings, too.

I will forego the usual picture of my workspace as that's frankly not all that interesting.
I also can't provide the customary pet picture on the grounds that I have no pet. Although I very much would like to have a hamster, but don't allow myself to have one, for the potential hamster's sake as well as the eventual emotional trauma due to a hamster's short lifespan.

What I can provide, though, is a list of projects that I am currently working on, as recently there was some interest voiced in such a list which promted my own interest to take inventory, so to speak.
This list will be split over the next couple of posts, sporting the occasional picture to adorn the text, giving the current status of my various projects. My plan is to update the status of everything I'm working on to reflect any progress, the goal being to get the status of each and every project to "painted", which I'll take the liberty to mark in red.

    Various

For the most part this means terrain.
Aside from an assortment of terrain pieces from GW and others (like two buildings from Tabletop World) I am currently working on a Cities of Death board for 40K with a friend and using Hirst Arts moulds to create Mordheim scenery.

(the only picture I have currently available, showing my first try using the Hirst Arts blocks)

There's a good chance Uncharted Seas will make an appearance in the near future, too.

    Hey there!
Heh, it looks like I finaly found somone has has as many varied and sporadic plans as me, I have lost count of what iv'e tried to start only to leave pitifully unfinished...
Anyway, I love the look of your vampire counts army, from what I can see there are some truely intuitive conversions done there that need the as much praise as possible! You also have incredibly impressive wood elf collection with what looks like a suberb and clean colour scheme and the treeman looks amazing, what did you use for it?
How you can say you have mediocre painting skills I will never know but from what I can see mediocre is nowhere to be found!
Look forward to seeing more, keep up the good work!

    Thank you.
The treeman is a Tree Lord from Ultraforge Miniatures, beloved by me, hated by many.

Now on to the things that are currently on my painting table.
First there are the Augur and Bertha Bestraufrung for my Sisters of Sigmar warband. Pictures forthcoming once they are finished.

Then there's a Giant for my Middenheim army:

And I have started precursory work on my 40K Witch Hunters, which I am thinking about entering in the next Tale of 40K Painters, if they'll have me:

For the next Tale of Fantasy Painters I plan on starting my Warriors of Chaos, which I'll also play in a Warbands campaign at my FLGS.

Since I change my plans about eight times a day (as this overabundance of projects illustrates) I might decide to do something entirely different, though.

There's something very disturbing about those female orcs, lol. Lots of cool stuff. I vote you paint Dark Elves or Empire next.

You should start a Tomb Kings or Daemons army, as you're running low on stuff to paint.

Wow, I thought I had a lot of stuff to get through! This log is going to running until you're old and grey (unless you already are old and grey, in which case it'll probably see you to the end).

What grabs my attention are the Mordheim pirates, nice models and solid paint job!

All the best with the various projects!

Actually I have been considering a Daemon army for some time.
As well as an Imperial Guard army and a small Ork force centered around bikes.
Putting together a complete list of all my projects for the first time has put a damper on that, though.

I wish. In that case I wouldn't be painting myself, but paying somebody to do it for me, as I think it's a bit of a chore.
Considering all this stuff was bought over the course of six years and hardly anything at full price the expenditure wasn't that extreme.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to start eating healthier so I'll live to finish it all.
Just so whoever manages my estate after my death can throw it all away...

Nah, there are still a bunch of armies I don't have and don't have any interest in.
However, I once thought the same thing about 40K in general, Ogre Kingdoms, and Empire. Which leads me to...

Regrettably I won't have the time to enter the next ToFP with an army that needs a lot of troops, so my Middenheim army is out.
I thought maybe the Heraldry book would leave me so impressed that I'd do it anyway, but to the contrary I found it underwhelming. Picked it up from the store on Friday, "read" through it in twenty minutes and don't think I'll ever feel the need to look at it again.
Well, there is the giant, as a teaser of things to come.

And these two are kinda Empire-ish:

I forgot Bertha's eyes, which I'll do tomorrow, as well as a number of minor fixes.
I think they turned out fairly well.

Ya, I hear ya on the no time thing. I have my last year of Uni to finish, and I have to still work during that time...and I paint very slowly. I know what you mean on the heraldry book as well. I liked it, but I was expecting more from what people were saying who had seen it.

Bertha and the Auger(?) look good. I have those models as well, but I'm not entirely sure what I'll be doing with them.
