Damned, you are a fast quality painter. Those Goblins look very good. Looking forward to a group shot of the "in a few years".

Nice skin tones on Baby Kade and Candy.

I don't think there'll ever be one. Setting up such a shot would take days...

Anway, one down, two to go. A finished mother of monsters:

And speaking of monsters, I mentioned another spontaneous fancy recently. And today it came in the mail:

Not really sure where to go with this, though.
I want my daemons based like they are in a spooky forest. So far I have not figured out how to do that.

    Two down, one to go.
    The finished Mature Nephilim:

And with him done the crew is complete now. Group shot:

Thanks do Lord Dan's advice I fixed Candy's eye, too. Not sure if you can make it out in the picture.

Terrifying, as one would expect for such a motley group. Well done, and I must admit those bases look both fantastic and suitably "graveyard-y".

This is an amazing crew.. mmm.. you might be making me want to invest in Wyrd models now.. that Mature Nephilim is really nice, and the creepy babies are well.. creepy..

And good luck on the FW Daemons, or the Daemon project in general.. am going through a horde of these guys myself, but sticking to plain old lava and death style.. easier when your going for a few hundred of them

Mist made from cotton wool would make an a forest base look spooky. Not too sure how to make a forest base mind, but I know would want dark colours on it. Great work on that Malifaux crew very nice!

Thanks. It's just sand basecoated dark brown and drybrushed with Graveyard Earth. I guess that stuff has its name for a reason.

A few hundred? You don't kid around, do you?

Now that you mention it I have seen cotton wool used to great effect, but I am usually reluctant to use something like that, because I imagine it won't age well and will get damaged and dusty.

So, here's the third mini I absolutely wanted to finish this month:

There wasn't much to finish, actually. So I thought I should finish something else, too:

Regrettably this took a lot longer than I had hoped and I'm not so sure it was a good idea to push myself to get them done. Because right now I'm pretty fed up with Night Goblins.
Here's the progress on the Night Goblin army so far:

Hey, that duelist looks phenomenal! Love the colors you've achieved on the face, and the eyes are particularly brooding. My only suggestion would be to change the color of the pistols to a light brown, perhaps even tan, to differentiate them from the color of the gloves a little more.

It's also nice to see more progress on those pesky goblins! I'll tell you those guys may be a pain to get done, but the extra effort you're putting in is really paying off. I love that grey color you're using on the cloaks, and the fact that everything on them is so dark (dark red arrow fletching, dark red/brown shoes) gives them a nice, evil look. I certainly hope you'll continue with them when you're feeling more up to it, as a whole army of those guys will look amazing.

Painting 50 near identical models of ANY kind would make you pretty fed up, regardless of how quickly they were painted! Maybe now is the time to paint something a little different for the army, so you're still making progress but painting something a little bit different at the same time. You got any cavalry/war machines/squigs in that big box of tricks to paint? Doing some of those before painting more of the basic troops could help you feel a bit better about them.

Thanks. I call him Stan Helsing; he's part of an exchange program between Middenheim and Sylvania.
The colour of the gloves and the pistols isn't really that close, the picture is just a bit dark.

Oh, I'll certainly continue with them, but it's a bit discouraging that there aren't even 200 points done yet.
On the other hand I don't need that many more for my army list, although it makes me wonder if it's a good idea to have a Night Goblin army with only two units of Night Goblins. For now, anyway, until I manage to paint all the other Night Goblins I have.

That's not a bad idea. I've been preparing some Squig Hoppers and character models. Or I could do some war machines or a giant.

My plan for the month looks like this:
In the first week I want to get my entries for the Tale of Board Game Painters and the Tale of Skirmish Game painters out of the way. So I started working on these:

That's the last of the kbolds for Super Dungeon Explore. After that there's only the dragons left to do, which I should get done in August. Although I am a little afraid of the big dragon.
For the skirmish thing I am sticking with Malifaux after all, because I have made a noticeable dent in that part of my collection and there's even hope that I'll get all of it painted in the near future. I am getting a bit ahead of myself there, though, because not counting this one I still have about five crews to go (including the very numerous Gremlins).

The second week is reserved for something Empire. Not sure what, though. Maybe the Hurricanum, maybe the 20 Spearmen I started painting a while ago.

If all goes according to plan that means I have the second half of the month to paint whatever I want. And in August I won't have to paint anything for the ToFP. So that's my window for more Night Goblins.
Or I start something else entirely. You know, as usual.

Your rate of painting remains phenomneal as ever.

I like the creepy kids/things in the Malifaux crew (what faction are they)?

The duellist is top notch and very heroic/over the top in a good way (Where is the mini from?)

And kudos on painting the night goblins!

    Good stuff as ever. ::

Zombie prostitutes almost seem normal next to the crew of murderous children you've already painted.

Love the colors you've chosen for the dresses.

As ever great stuff. Excellent work on the NG horde. Clear, consistent and very fun to look at. But I have to say that duellist is awesome. I was not sold at all on it when I saw it on the site, but yours has changed my mind. In particular, the face shading and the eyes are just perfect. Top quality painting.

The creepy kids are from the Neverborn faction. And the duellist is from GW, found in their collector's range.

Thanks, but as usual with my Malifaux minis I'm just trying to follow the picture on the box.
Although they may seem almost normal I am looking forward to painting the undead hookers.

Incidentally I felt the same way about the duellist when I saw him in Lord Dan's log.

To keep up with the schedule I set for myself I had to finish the kobolds today:

It's a bit disappointing that they don't look all that different to the picture above from a couple of days ago, considering the number of layers I put on them. They'll do for ow, though. If I have time left over at some point I could revisit them later.

Really like the colors of the robe on the Kobold priests, And what colors did you use for the uhm "front chest" of the Kobold Ogres? I've beeen debating what to do with that area on mine. (And as luck would have it - my plans are to paint a priest and ogre next, finishing one "set" of the Kobolds.)

Good job on the kobolds too. I'm going to try to finish mine (half of the SDE set, enough for 16 bit games) today. Fingers crossed
