If there is something specifically "stormy" about their past then it probably isn't something they'll want to be reminded of on their wedding day, even if it's obviously intended to contrast the potential of their future together.

You could also name it something like "towards a bright future together" or something like that, though I do think that it is very clear already.
There (still) is no spork.
Here you go:
As you can see he is a little short to be aStormtrooperTreeman, especially since the slate I put him on adds to the height. But I think it'd still work. He's far too massive for a Treekin, though.
I ended up buying the smallest cans I could find at the supermarket. They are not to scale, but that's not a problem.
Thank you.
Not sure if I'll have fun at the wedding. I'm the best man, which is a hassle. I'll be glad when it's over.
Thank you, sir.
No, we haven't had any conflict.
There isn't anything specific I am aware of; it's just a mushy platitude weddings seem to be full of.
Well, I guess I'll leave it as is and say a few words to explain it when I hand it over, just to prevent any kind of misunderstanding.
Today I finished Rasputina and her crew. Except for the bases, which I will add snow to at some point in the hopefully not too far future.
Next up: Kobolds for SDE and a Celestial Hurricanum.

Hmmmm.... I would paint his face blue as well... It looks odd.

Don't be ridiculous, yours looks very good as it is (although I'll allow myself to be immodest and say that I like mine a bit better).
As usual with my Malifaux minis I simply tried to emulate the studio paintjob. So it may be odd, but it's also "official".
The wedding is over and the gift was well received, although I don't think the bridal pair even had the time to take in the detail.
Oh, and look, guys, I assmebled my Hurricanum:
Yeah.
That's how far you can assemble that thing if you want to have any chance to paint it properly before putting it all together.
And you all know how much I love having to paint parts of a model before assembling it fully.![]()

thats a hefty amount of minis! ace thread
Make sure you keep hold of all the bits!![]()
Not counting the wizard, that's 19 pieces. Another guy who's progress with the Hurricanum I follow, paints his in 11 pieces, so you definitely have him beat. ^^
I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, on the plus side though I get to benefit from all the brave souls tackling that modeling/painting horror before me.![]()

Thanks for the comparison pics! Ah, you are right about the size. I already have 2 treemen, so I was actually hoping more for a treekin equivalent. (And that quote from Star Wars... brings back great memories)
Very nice work on the cult. Can't wait to see what you do with that empire contraption.
'
Thank you. I am very fond of those group pictures.
Tip of the iceberg, mate.
That's one of the reasons I don't like having to paint things before putting them together. I am always very anxious about losing a bit.
It happens rarely, though. However, recently I appear to have managed to lose the arm of the limited edition Empire standard bearer. Not sure how I did it. I hope I just dropped it and it will turn up someday. There is a chance it went down the drain when I stripped the paint from the model, although I don't see how that could have happened since I was very careful.
I've thought about it but I don't see how you could do it in 11 pieces. Maybe 15, but that's pushing it.
Too bad, I would have liked to see you painting that thang.
Yeah, welll....this is what it looks like currently:
So not quite finished yet. For the ToFP I'll probably focus on this guy:
And maybe some other random characters:
The bulk of what I want to get finished this months, though, are the SDE Kobolds:
These are really not fun to paint. The base colours are all there now, so only need some highlights. I probably won't bother trying to paint them to a good standard. They are short-lived anyway and rarely stay on the board for more than a turn or two.
And as a bonus for the Tale of Skirmish Game Painters I started painting this little lady:
I'm a bit lost with her. Not sure how I should paint the armor. Heck, I'm not even sure where her cloak starts in the back. And I couldn't find a painted example of her, at least in a picture that was big enough to give me a clue.
This also happened to be one of the most horrible miniatures to build that I have ever encountered. Both arms are separate and you have to glue them on at the same time. I hate that when it's in plastic, but in metal? Sunofa... And the braid? Forget about it.

Black lacquer armor, red cloak, blonde hair.
The Hurricane is coming along nicely, as well. I like how you've gone with a blue for the wood rather than... well, wood.
Sorry to hear that shes a pain to put together. That being said, I'd be interesting in inflicting the same pain upon myself, what is she, & who makes her?
Good progress on your Empire, I don't think I'd have the patience to paint those great big warmachines, but yours is coming along splendidly.

Cant wait to see the finished hurricanum.
I think I'll go with metal armor. The problem is not the choice of colours but discerning the detail on the sculpt, though.
What's good enough for the 'Eavy Metal team is good enough for me. Plus, the blue Hurricanum will fit in well with the rest of the army.
It's a mini for Infinity, so it's made by Corvus Belli. She goes by the name of Jeanne d'Arc 2.0.
Neither can I, but that will take more time. A lot more.
Regrettably the state of the Hurricanum has not changed one iota over the last week. We've had a string of hot and sunny days here, which made my painting space - located in the attic - pretty much unusable.
I'll be happy if I manage to finish the sorcerer who is supposed to be riding on the Hurricanum tomorrow.
The only thing I did manage to complete were these here kobolds:
These are not fun to paint due to the peculiar style of sculpting. It was okay with the SDE heroes, but these are simply a chore.
I am not happy with my choice of colours, either.
And to make it worse: I am desperately in need of new brushes, the ones I have are spent. They have seen a full year of heavy duty, so I can't complain about that.
My plan was to use my budget for next month to treat myself to some Winsor & Newton series 7. I have been very happy with the Da Vinci brushes I've been using, but since the W&Ns are said to be the best I want to try them.
And then I came upon something on ebay I could not say no to, so there went my budget. I guess my current brushes will have to do for another month.

Your painting space is in the attic? Unacceptable!
They don't have much in the way of texture and some parts are sculpted rather badly. I mean, is that really the epitome of kobold dentistry?
It's probably good advice to paint them before you glue them to the base, because otherwise some parts are hard to reach with the brush.
I might add in pupils later on.
I'm ... sorry ... I guess.![]()
