I agree with altering the position of the Rat Ogre's head, that works out much better.

RAARGH! The Warlord on Bonebreaker is 99.9% finished! Got some spots to clean up and base to do. Not too happy with it TBH, only thing I really like is the cape on the warlord and the armor on the Bonebreaker. The model came out OK though. Ironically I'm happier with the first Rat Ogre I painted!
I've wanted to convert Tretch Craventail into an Assassin since it came out. The arms are the Torch holding arms from the flagellant sprue and the head is from plauge monks. The daggers are from the Tretch Model himself. I don't want to use the dwarven ruin for him to sit upon but I don't really have any good ideas. Suggestions are welcome!
Hope you like and C&C is welcome!
Really loving the cape, the beak and the reins. The skin of the rat ogre could use some more shading I think, that would probably make it look better. If you look at your Clanrats their skin seems a bit darker with more shading. So an extra wash might do the trick.
I'm in no way a pro painter but thats the quick and easy way I would use to make it more pleasing to the eye

That bone breaker looks fantastic, as do all the empire rats! It reminds me a bit of something in one of the skeven stories about skaven in Under-Altdorf emulating the humans. Oh and I'm glad someone finally did something with Tretch, he looks very cool, had similar ideas myself but never got round to doing anything with it. As for his base, I'd go for a bit of ruined wall or something Empireish from the Garden of Morr or similar.

The Warlord is looking to be one of your best projects so far! That other guy may be right about a bit of shading on the Rat Ogre's flesh and Flame of Udun is probably on the right track for the assassin's base.

Love the Warlord, and the maniac Skaven approach to ridden monsters.
For the Assassin's alternative perch, why not a gallows, an Imperial streetlight or something along those lines?

I think you're right. There's a huge difference between painting a clanrat and a rat ogre because its a bigger model and therefore it has larger areas of skin. I've used the same technique on the rat ogres and the clannies because I was lazy. So yeah, I should go over the Bonebreaker one more time.
Thanks alot! Yeah a ruined wall section sounds great, think I'll roll with that.
Thanks alot Astraeos!
I think gallows or streetlights are too tall. If he were to join a unit he would be towering above everybody else. I think I'll go for a ruined wall or fence section. But thanks for the tip, I could use it for a unit filler or something.
Armyshot! I thought I'd celebrate the first IOB box by taking a armyshot. Will game with them on wednesday with a great friend of mine. Dunno how many points but I guess it will be around 500-1200 or something. I think he'll play Dark Elves. Wish me luck!
So, I have started a Witch Hunters warband for mordheim and this is one of the witch hunters. I put him together before my first game. I played as defender in the Breakthrough scenario against a Night goblin warband with two trolls, a Hero troll and a Henchman troll, my Ws2 Zealot killed the Henchman troll with a Dagger! I Won but at great costs. All my heroes but this fellow here and two zealots and a Warhound were taken out of action and for that he got and advancement, +1S and +1I for a total of 4 in each stat.
I dunno if the lists are taken from the internet or if the gaming group wrote the lists themselves, they have done some modifications themselves, added warbands from each race in warhammer essentially.
You mighgt recognize this fellow, I put him together as a Skaven Cultist but he has redeemed himself and become a full time Witch Hunter! I sculpted the coat for him yesterday to give him a more with hunter-y feel.
Here is a Skaven Cultist who doubles as a Zealot. I added the Scabbard since I found a Empire knights sword in scabbard in my bitsbox. I think I'll do some more modifications to him before I paint him though.
And here is my Warrior priest for the warband. I am really happy with this fellow. He got his first injury in my first battle. Nervous condition, so his Leadership dropped to 7. He doesn't look particularily nervous to me though.
Hope you like and C&C is welcome!
Wow! Some great work!
Great conversions, I really like the guy that is drawing his sword and the redeemed cultist.![]()
The skaven are looking great but they need those bases done dude! It's the only thing letting them down. Your warrior priest look firkin' formidable! What are you using for the body?

Amazing witch hunters, and that priest blows any of GW's efforts off the table.

I really like these models. I'm confused though (probably just missed it...), do you field them with the skaven rules or with the empire rules? Does either army have a unit called cultists? o.O

I'm looking for the OOP Lizardmen Cold Ones, please PM me if you have any for sale
I know it's Nordic's log but I can answer this. It's a Skaven army that's playing Empire cosplay! The cultists represent Skavenslaves I think.

Thanks for all the comments and support guys!
Thank you very much! hope you'll like the modifications I made on the one drawing his sword.
Thanks alot. I'm looking into the base issue. I need some cheap airdrying clay that is sturdy to sculpt on the bases as I really don't have that much green stuff left. Or some other good sculpting material.
Thanks alot Logan!
ha! Thank you very much!
I field them as Skaven. the so called cultists really are just normal Skavenslaves. They're cultists just for the fluff.
You are absolutley correct Astraeos. =)
So, more work has been done on the mordheim warband. I said I would make some modifications to this fellow and I did. I change his left arm and head as I thought it didn't look zealous enough and I wanted the scabbard closer to the body so I changed the arm too. Looks better imo. the red is a little washed out in this photo though it should be a little bit more nuanced highlights.
The redeemed cultist is now named Reinhard. I love painting red armor so I think I'll give all my witch hunters red armor. I had two games of mordheim today and in the first of the two Reinhard failed his fear test maybe two or three times against a skeleton and a vampire. But he survived the battle and got a skill advancement. I was fed up with him failing his fear tests so I gave him the Fearless warrior skill that makes him immune to fear and treats double fear as regular fear or something like that. its a skill that the local gaming group came up with when they modded mordheim I think.
hope you like and C&C is welcome!
Thats a fantastic selection of witch hunters you've got. As has been said the Warrior priest is awesome. Also loving the comet painted on that chaps shield.

Your Witch Hunters paint scheme is very reminiscent of GW's red period. Still looks cool though.

Yeah that bone breaker is incredible, hats off to you sir.
thanks alot! the comet will be the insignia for my warband.
I really like the GW red period so I'll take that as a compliment!
Thanks alot!
So, some more Witch hunters! This is a witch hunter armed with a crossbow, sword, shield and clad in a helmet and heavy armor.
Next up is a sword toting Zealot with light armor and helmet who doubles as a Skaven Cultist.
Then we have the Warrior Priest of Sigmar who had two sigmarinte warhammers, heavy armor, helmet and holy tome. He died in my last battle but fortunatley I could by a new one but the new one don't have the same gear but I won't do anything about it WYSIWYG-wise as I aim to get the same gear for him as he had before.
I thought i'd switch the colour sheme around and make the armor red instead of the robes. the robes got white because I thought that would look good together. I tried to make some sort of magical effect on the hammers since they are magical, holy and all but It really did'nt look good so I settled for metallic colours on them.
Heinrich Kramer, the captain of the warband. Named after one of the authors of the Malleus Maleficarum. or the Witch Hammer as it is also called. it was the Witch hunter's handbook in the middle ages, written 1486.
Now that I see the pictures I notice that I should highlight the armor a little bit more and fix some stuff around the area where the flames and the metal meet.
And Last but not least a group shot of all the painted Warband members. I have two warhounds on my charter but I don't have any suitable models for those. I've only won 1 game (my first) out of 5 total but its been really fun anyways! I also played a game of regular Warhammer fantasy with my skaven. I lost one game and won one game there. (Though the match where I won was the special scenario Heroic last stand which is kinda hard to loose.)
Hope you like and C&C is welcome!
Nothing really constructive to say, but it is all thoroughly awesome! I especially like Heinrich Kramer, he has this look on his face "My hat is on fire? All Riiiiight"![]()
I think the red is actually very fitting for Witch Hunters as they like to use fire as a tool for witch hunting. They're looking great but their bases could do with some attention!
