New Azhag the Slaughterer model - release date

Following on from 'The Chase' and the Orc & Goblins Bitz Packs seen this month, I am informed the new Azhag the Slaughterer model will be released in September, possibly alongside other O&G releases... although I'm seeking clarification on that last part. More info as it comes to hand. In the meantime here are some existing pics of the Azhag model that have been around for a while... more in the Rumour Roundup.

HOLY BALLZ THAT IS SO AMAZING I WANT IT I WANT IT I WANT IT!!

    A-hem.

I mean, that looks pretty excellent. I especially enjoy the wyvern, he could be used for conversions. Nice.

Thanks for the great news. I can't wait to see if it's direct only or it's going to be released in independant store as well.

Wow, I thought they said it couldn't be done, or that it would be too expensive to justify?

And what are the other releases? Maybe the plastic boarboyz that the 3 up hinted at in the round up?

Is it a straight copy or 'based' on the one we have already seen? If I remember correctly the model shown was a designer one off and could not be cast as originally made. Still great news. To bad I just bought a boss on wyvern and went to town with the hobby saw. I guess I'll have two Azhag and a generic boss.

    Wow. Finally.

I hate, hate hate Orcs and Goblins, but I will buy one of those.

Beautiful wyvern model, that. The orc isn't bad at all, but I love that wyvern. Thanks for the news.

Awesome. This is the best GW large monster to date IMO, and who doesn't have at least a small orc and goblin army to use as an excuse to get this?

Hm? I was under the impression it was never going to see light.

As lovely as the model is, it doesn't strike me as being very Azhag-y.

Great! Now when does that Duke Nukem game come out...

Seriously, how long has this model been around now?

...wait...maybe Azhag is the mystery box! lol
...and a little help comes in a little glass vial in a gun pressed against her anatomy...

Well , one of the mysteries.
This is the other thing I have been excited about that comes out before the Skaven army.

Your memory serves you well and this was the exactly the problem and the reason it was not released sooner.
It is not a straight copy.
It had to be modified a bit.

It has been around a while.
But all that matters is that we will now be able to buy one.

The Wyvern is a beautiful sculpt from Trish and I have been wanting to own and paint this from the first moment I set eyes on it. I am so very happy they have found a way to get it into production. Thanks Trish, Thanks GW.

I don't think there ever was a problem. Just GW inventing reasons.

    1-3 We dropped the mold.
    4-6 Too complex.

Still abit of viral marketing never hurt.

You can think what you like.
But there was a problem. Thats why it was only cast in resin previously. Thats why it had to be modified.
I can explain the problem a bit or you can just take my word for it.

Is this going to be a 'real' GW release, or was it given to forgeworld to craft their magic on?

Standard GW release. I believe it is meant to replace the current model which will soon be 9 years old.

Please do. I'm really interested in the inner workings of GW and their production.

And while you're at it maybe you can also explain why Orcs & Goblins despite being relatively new see a new release every week while other armies are seemingly being neglected to a point where they want to deny any knowledge of their existence... and I'm NOT talking Chaos Dwarves here!
