Truth is smaller point games are still really fun in modern additions, and sixth works well with skirmishes- its a myth that you have to use huge armies to play 40k at least

To an extent yes, as you get a little more stuff at lower points

Yes, or newer codexes get it too cheaply haha. Either way, a small game can be a very enjoyable experience, its a myth that you have to have ever larger armies to play these games- as always its all about attitude and the players

Ha. Yeah... the old witch hunters and Daemonhunters codices could fit a Land Raider in a 500 point game. That's... fair, right?
In all honesty, I don't think the game is any worse for this kind of cheese. It's all about the players. As Samiens points out.
And if you think of list building as a part of the game, it's really quite fun. Granted, like highly embellished rock-paper-scissors. But the embellishments are what make it fun to play.

Haha. Received my huge FSA order, and the retailer had thrown in two really nice paintbrushes for free, just as a thanks for being a good customer.
Has anyone received a freebie with an order from GW any time in the last 10 years?
Those who know don't care any more, and those who care don't know.
Yeah, I got a free Drazhar in 2007 or 8, plus my local gw often runs promotions where you get raffle tickets for spending £x and prizes often include oop models etc.

You mention further down the page about how the 'enjoyable experience' from playing games comes from the attitude of the players. I agree completely. I've had to endure the fun been sucked from games more from whiney Fluff Bunny players than competitive players (not that they aren't interested in the background as much as the first mentioned type, one can be both competitive and theme-centric with lists), and this trend is replicated on Forums as well because the former are far more vocal in their whiney-ness..
You accuse me of being a Madman.
What right do you have to judge what is sane and what is not?
I placed an order with UK GW online around Christmas last year (I think...). The surprising thing was that some items were at approx 20% discount. I can't for the life of me figure out why. Is this what GW offers online sales around Christmas every year? If someone could elucidate I would be very grateful.
GW haven't had a sale for over a decade now - any discount you got was either an error or, well, that's about it.

Yes I did order outside of UK to where there is no GW store locally.
It did cost me 40 quids in postage to ship all the stuff over however.
But the thing is some items had the 20% off and some didn't. As I recall thing like codices and books had no discount whatsoever though.
