If this place is such an unholy land, Pilgram, why do you spend time here? Like which forums specifically? Seriously, in most of your posts you either say things with no backing evidence or say things like "you're all haters so you will just ignore everything I say". And yet you still say it.
The topic of this thread is GW products and their prices. Saying "I don't consider GW stuff to be worth my money, I'd rather buy Mantic stuff" is okay. Stating "Mantic are so much better and cheaper - follow this link to much great stuff" is not. I didn't say you can not talk about Mantic, just to do it at the appropriate thread. I merely asked to stay on topic here.
I hope I made my point clear.
Come on guys, no need to get bitter.

Actually it's got £50 worth of stuff in it, which doesn't sound like much of a deal to me. You can make anything seem like a deal when you're constantly inflating the prices of the contents seperately.
And while I can't speak for everyone of course, -I- certainly won't be buying it, nor have I bought anything from GW for the past 3/4 years or so.
When did GW release something? Was it plastic or metal? Who sculpted it? Come find out:Fantasy, 40K, LOTR, BFG, Blood Bowl, Epic, Inquisitor, Man O' War, Mordheim, Necromunda & Warmaster

Not once have I ever called anyone a 'hater'. I cant stand that term. I've been called a 'fanboi' though, which is laughable since I think GW do some absolutely bonkers things, and they make up only 60% of my product space on my shelves so I'm firmly in the camps of many companies.
And I actually like this forum, there are some posters on here that actually know what they're talking about and make well thought out, reasoned posts that you can actually enter a discussion with. People that understand how a business actually works in the real world outside of a vacuum of figures and anecdotes and its good to get into a debate about what they think.
What I dont like is that if anyone 'outs' themselves as a GW employee, they get hounded until they stop posting.

Ok, now this is an interesting little development in the GW pricing issues.
whole load of new finecast for wfb are on pre-order today, and I'm sure we've all heard plenty about the super expensive finecast regiments.
but i noticed the LM Kroxigor are now sold as a pack of 3, for $83 Aus. Now, iirc, they were $38 Aus in metal. So 3 of them was $114. Basically, the unit has been discounted by 27%. I'm not as confident on the cost of terradons, but they appear to have recieved the same treatment. Now sold in 3s for $83 Aus.
I nice little gem amoung the dust that is the rest of gw's prices
well i would say i'm not an idiot when it comes to running a business. and the idea that we are all to stupid to understand why GW would consistently raise prices... ya i would call that more of a moronic statement then anything else. Business sense GW now has more competitors then ever before. they've been taking alot of flak lately and have not come off the better of it. chapter house will more then likely win its lawsuit. GW will never be able to justify their continued price escalation. they took a reasonably priced hobby and have marginalized it to the point that forgeworld price wise is easier to justify then buying a box of ridiculously over priced plastic.
It´s the only visible positive trend.
A similar price drop happened to treekins and ushabtis.
The downside, of course, is that now you have to buy three.
I only need one specific Kroxigor - the one with the round hammer - but I'm certainly not going to buy a box of three to get that one, no matter that the price per Krox went down a bit.

And they're still too expensive.
Admittedly we have to do the same thing with most other units which are sold in no less than 16, 10, 5, etc. (I remember being frustrated by the fact that I had to buy a whole box of 5 cold one knights because I needed one more model for my unit). This is at least a move in the right direction, and implies that GW is reacting to decreased sales volumes.
I already have the round hammer guy, and wouldn't mind having 4. Finecast would make repositioning the arms on the 4th easier. I'm not a fan of finecast, but I'll accept it at a discount over metal, which (as surprising as it is to me) this just so happens to be
nah, it's damn hard to find the newer sculpts on ebay, I spent ages waiting for some to pop up that i could grab before finally giving up and buying my frav from gw. Now the metals will be rarer and more expensive for it :/
