Personally I find lash spam shows the player needs the spam to compete. It's not really that great anymore at the national metagaming level with all the heavy mech lists running around. I find it to be popular for the big fish in small ponds.

I find it disturbing because I play Grey Knights. All I need is a stupid sorcerer pulling my 400 point unit into a circle for a template. Fortunately I get a save and start in vehicles.
Remember that your Grey Knights all have aegis suits which counts as a psychic hood for each unit. You should always equip your Grand Master with a psychic hood as well. The aegis suits only work for the targeted unit but the Grand Master's psychic hood protects your entire army. So basically lash would have to get past both the aegis suits and the psychic hood to work. All your Grey Knights also have the Shrouding so lash will have roll to roll 3x3d6 to spot the targeted squad. Your army is inherently very well protected versus lash.

Would the lash have to get past both? I use the Aegis, but I also have a psychic hood on my inquisitor. Then if I also had ungents of warding would the spell have to get past all three?
good report
Lash and Fortune are broken get over it.

Phil Kelly is Tzeentch!
Well it turns out lash spam is the most popular army by far to reach the finals. Should be interesting to see if they can go the distance.

lash is pure cheese. the most stupid power to ever make a codex
Eldrad & Jet councils eat lash lists - and that's simply the most blatant example; other armies have tools to fight said tactic - I just find it comical the amount of lash whining taking place considering it's Ard Boyz..
As for Mountain Angel - aren't you playing a Vulkan list? If so, I'd be careful of insulting the creativity and "skill" of others.
Oh - as I got distracted combating the hypocrisy in this thread, I forgot to mention that I enjoyed your report. It's always fun to get a glimpse of Ard Boyz as it's the only tourney I don't play.
Nicely done, congratulations on the win.
I am so glad that we use composition scoring in our tournaments, and non-comp tournaments are rare. Even at our non-comp tournaments, we don't get cheese like this.. Having said that, I would be keen to play in a tournament like this once, just to see what it is like lol!
Still, congratulations on your win, obviously all the lists were hard, so kudos is in order.
Good battle reports as well, nicely written, easy to read. Shame you can't progress.
looks awesome
I don't play Vulkan.

Nice report, and congrats on the win.
I also like the fact that the fist 'Nid player got 4th. Just goes to show that your list isn't everything.

A well written battle report that kept me interested.

Saying the other guy was cheesy is a crutch so you don’t have to admit any personal failings. Make excuses! Don’t face painful truths, don’t improve, don’t ask for a friendly rematch, just be bitter and mutter under your breath how you should have won.

Great read, praise be to chaos.
