Sparda's Log- Ultramarines, Orcs, and others

I dont exactly remember how we did it because it was so long ago but I think that we just used each systems rules for the units like IG could move 6" Orcs could march 8" etc and when it came to combat just used IG like skirmishers.It was one of the funnest games I played though. BTW Earthshakers are Not fair i a game like this.

So havnt had any motivation to paint. The only figures I have here are Some empire Militia and a handful of mantic orcs. Im just so tired every day during the week and have better things to do on the weekends. Also no one plays here so there isnt even the promise of playing a game.
But heres what I have finished so far-

love it when people throw balance out of the equation and have fun with it all. Sorry to hear that you don't get the opportunity to play anymore. Surely there is a games store or hobby club somewhere?

So not a whole lot going on painting wise but I want to at least get enough guys painted for a skirmish game. so heres what I want to finish by next weekend-

Look at this an update! And 40k! I told you all I would get back into it... eventually...








Rhino does not have its top glued on I still need to finish metallics and misc stuff. Plus treads. Might add more markings as well. But this is what I've been doing. What to expect from here- Guard and Tau plus lots and lots of breaks. Thats right I found players! However they don't have armies here... so might take a while till i get in a game. Fun times for all!

BTW sorry about poor pictures I only got my Iphone and I can no longer borrow my sisters camera.

Me and my buddy went to the hobby shop with the intention of picking up dark vengeance.... that was before we found out that there will be a 750 point tourney next weekend. Well this is why we leave our credit cards at home when we go buy model soldiers. Bad angle but there is a battleforce and hammerhead in that pile

And we got our lists together, assembled all our forces and got a game in all in one night.

Ok so 6th is quite a bit different... last game i played was 4th. I like some of the rules but feel like it can get confusing with ability to move 2-3 times a turn and hate how the rulebook is set up. I need to give it a real good read through I mean for the first half of the game i thought they got rid of morale modifiers because I couldn't find the chart. But I guess thats what happens when you try to play without really knowing what your doing lol.

The imperial fist is like a combat adviser or something going with the ultramarines to learn new tactics. I don't know what the Rhino door is but I wanted something to break up the blue a little I think it turned out nice.

Nice log. It's the very definition of random. I love the old painting style of the Ultramarines.

Everything looks nice so far. Really like the crisp old-school colours of your Ultramarines.

Thank you for the comments! The randomness is a result of being in one place for a month and another for another etc. and the fact that I do have a very short attention span. The Ultras will not be touched until june-july but I did pick up two old school vindicators for them and I am real excited to paint those up. For now a flames of war infantry platoon.

Got all these done in an afternoon. Was not satisfied with 2nd and 3rd squads flesh and helmets so they'll be redone next time i get around to painting infantry.

KK so going home in about a month, looking to get a lot of work done then because my family will be working during the day so thats like a week and a half of nothing to do during the days. Until then what ive been working on-
