Righto, time to get busy with this! I'm so happy to be working on orcs again and the whole idea of a year-long event is just splendid.

So, while I don't have anything solid to show here, I have managed to outline a mockup sketch of a plan to go with for the next twelve months.

To Do List:

(in some order, very much susceptible to change):

1. Shaman on foot, movement trays, bases with earthworks, maybe paint some regular bases.
   
2. 25 Boyz on foot
   
3. 10 Arrer Boyz
   
4. 20 Black Orcs
   
5. 35 Night Goblins & Night Goblin Great Shaman.
   
6. Giant (the sweet as hell Albion one - should I go with Cachtorr or Bologs? Decisions decisions...)
   
7. Big Boss on boar and the Battle Standard on foot.
   
8. 20 Savage Orcs on foot.
   
9. 10 Wolf Riders.
   
10. 10 Boar Boyz
    
11. 3 Trolls.
    
12. Getting married AND Warboss on wyvern.

Shopping List:

(not bought/in transit/delivered)

Bases - from the land of kangaroos, wombats and Vegemite.

Photo-etched bits for the bases - fern to be exact; very anxious to work with it.

Azhag the Slaughterer - dear Gork, send us this lovely model. If you don't, this is substituted for a carnosaur.

Citadel Wood kit. Or two.

Ork Stormboyz bodies - dunno how many yet, but many.

Da Plan's a Good 'un! Don't forget, though, that those two spare months you have could also be used for Jokers (since we get two in the tale). Seeing what you have done with the Dark Elves, count on me dropping by to lend a fellow Greenskin some support! As for the modular trays remember that the back sheets are spaced out 8x8, and you get two to a package. If you don't mind recycling (i.e. gluing spare pieces of them together), then you can get more mileage out of them.

Although, I do think we would cut you some slack for not getting anything painted for month 12 .

The fern fronds just arrived and boy do they look fantastic, I'm very anxious to put them on the bases. Shopping list updated accordingly.

Update 10th Aug. - two movement trays done and they turned out just splendid. Gale Force Nine - a winner is you.

All supplies for the earthworks bases purchased, work begins in literally a couple of minutes.

Report - Month 01

Target:

Ok, I've made some adjustments to my army's theme. Namely, I had to resign from the tartans. Try as I might, I just couldn't paint them up to a stander worthy of showing. But it would be pointless not to set a challenge for oneself woith each project, therefore tartans theme s switched to red. Plain red as a unifying color - as I suck at painting red.

Here is my first attempt at amending this state of suckiness:



Other than that, I've prepared what movement trays I could do with the supplies (namely the modular tray system) I had - these can be seen in the attachments. These are for 25 Boyz, 20 Black Orcs and two five-strong cavalry units.

The bases have also arrived, therefore the shopping list can be amended.

Would love to hear your comments folks.

@Breazer - thanks, but I'm not at all satisfied with the red. It's nowhere where I want it. Must keep working.

@Flesh - Pleasure's all mine. They do need fixing, I don't know what was the designer thinking. There's at least 2mm too much on each side. That makes 4-5mm of extra space on the front of the unit. That's a quarter of a standard base!

UPDATE 21st September

As you might know I withdrew from the Tale, but that doesn't mean I won't be finishing this project (or attempting to finish), however at my own pace.

As of now the item on my workbench is the boyz mob and it's nearing finish. Expect photos soon.

Also, the lists above have been amended after yet another session of hard thinking.

Well, this might not be soon, but it's an update.

Boyz on foot with shaman, almost done. I'm not sure about the last four spaces, whether to do a filler or proper boyz... I have no idea for either, suggestions much appreciated.
