you could buy a 40k scale reaver for less than that
I dont have a pic of it, but some time ago some one tried to sell off a "Wriathlord" which was a stick figure made of spures.

I think I know why the price is so high;
But seriously, i've seen plenty of auctions where the items go for far more than their retail price, but £500 for an Epic Titan? What is this guy smoking? As someone else said, you could get a 40k scale Titan for that, and still have change left over.Originally Posted by The Crazy Auction
That's the idea. He's obviously hoping that, with some macro shots and a large buy it now price, people will assume it's 40K scale without reading the description and buy it for £500. the "rule book for this model" is a single issue of Epic Magazine where the warmonger was introduced.
I'm tempted to bid a reasonable price for it.

I've got one of those and keep my eye out for others on eBay. Unfortunately the last one I saw on there went for £135 and I don't need another that much...
Most of that sellers items are rather expensive..

Warmongers do often go for £100+ as they are truly rare models... but £500 is pushing it!
Putting things on with a high buy it now but accepting offers is a good way to get the best price. The seller has four offers already. He can compare the best of those offers and fish for a price which may well be in excess of what the item would reach in auction. If one of the offers is £200 that represents someone's best bid. If the next best offer is £135 then if it was an auction he'd potentially sell for £140, as opposed to the £200 this one would hypothetically reach.
Thread retitled as it's far from "official".

Nowhere near as dramatic. But it saddens me sometimes when you see people paying over the odds for things that have been mislabelled. 4 people are bidding for this 'Dogs of War Halfling Napoleon' and it's up to £6.50. Don't think that they're being deliberately misled as everything else he's selling seems well labelled. It's just that if they paid £5 for the actual pack it comes from they'd get a halfling Elvis and 2 other figs.

There is always plenty of "interesting" auctions coming up on eBay, some stupid prices and some awesome bargains, just need to troll it daily.

The pretty marines are outrageous due to the fact that they are pretty marines - the price seems about right for the quantity and quality of the items included - there's a lot of freehand and quality miniature painting in that auction.
What is worse is that isn't a complete Warmonger Titan, it's missing the radar dish at the top of the tower, that should really drop how much it's worth. I still have mine but it's missing one of the dinky turrets on the edges of the upper carapace, I would definitely sell it if I was getting a price like that, heck half would make me ecstatic.
