I am still waiting for citadel pop"khorne" (thank you emperor norton). Twice the price for half the popcorn, but it has a fancy little GW eagle on the bag.

it would be awesome if you painted them up and played with them in a GW store. Kid picks up the model and it falls apart in his hand or it melts on the tabletop...

I've gotten a few good deals over the years from GW stuff on eBay but I have noticed it is becoming less and less. The last things I got were some Mordheim figures and they were only really a couple of quid (at the most) each cheaper than buying them from GW direct.
The only way to get bargins now in eBay is you either end up being incredibly lucky or you have to buy badly painted things and strip the paint off them, of course it seems more and more people title anything they have painted, no matter how badly as "pro" and set their asking price way to high.
Pro-painted...with a paint bucket.

The real problem with the shops is that they don't just sell at a high price, they buy at a high price too, then right away list the item at an even higher price. So if you buy from a shop you're paying an inflated price, and if you bid against a shop you end up paying more because they're bidding against you.
No point complaining though, this is the market in action. Just gotta have that Gideon Lorr? Then you'll have to pay through the nose, and as long as you're willing to do so, then the prices will remain high.
I'd question how sustainable this is in a normal market. After all, when people realise they can't get bargains on ebay anymore, will they continue coming? When shop-owners realise their stock isn't shifting, will they carry on selling? Then again, this probably isn't a normal market: the depths of our capacity to absorb price rises for our toy soldiers have never been plumbed!
Well the auction prices tend to even out some of the xteme Buy it Now prices.
I realy like the new Make an Offer feature, I have gotten some prety good deals that way.
True that, Tanner. I sold some of those 80's chaos dwarf warmachines, the Tenderiser, on ebay and got a pretty high price for them (high teens I think) from a shop. When I looked at this shop I saw that the seller had tens of these models already being sold for really high prices. It was like they were on a one shop mission to own all the chaos dwarf tenderisers and then increase the value of the models by means of a near monopoly on tenderisers, which of course were highly desirable to.....yeah.
Its quite an entertaining shop actually, £14 for a heavy weapon squat.

Sold off my last 40k army in order to buy an empty case to put the extra Privateer Press models I'm going to buy in.
I hope I'm part of a trend. I hope they learn.
yeah ive came across that shop a few times, they used to sell forgeworld stuff at at least double RRP saying it wasnt even available to preorder yet......thats until you looked at the forgeworld site and realised the model had been available to buy (not preorder) for at least a month
they tried that with zhufor and the nurgle sorcerer
Seen a couple today, but this is the first I've remembered to posthere..
Here are some Flamers of Tzeentch
If that is a reasonable tabletop standard, I should start entering in golden demon competitions.

He's not claiming they're pro-painted, he's not claiming they're GW-made, he's not charging a huge amount of money, he's not hiding the fact that they're pretty basic. What's the problem there?
