Actually you don't need to make any re-casts of Forgeworld-stuff if you sell it in Germany. Even new things started with an auction of 1€ will most likely end up with a final price higher than what the FW website says. Simply because FW wants 15% shipping and if you buy low volume, it is still cheaper to get it from eBay bits-sellers.

I don't think that is suspecious at all as long as people pay more for FW items than they would by buying from FW directly (and would not have to pay 15% shipping).
BTW, whenever I sell stuff on eBay (I am from Germany), I put it on the German AND the UK page. You get about 10-150% higher final price compared to putting it only in Germany. Ofc it depends greatly on the item aswell and the simple fact that entire Europe is checking the UK-site, but not the German one
Maybe it would be a good consideration for Forgeworld to start selling directly from eBay with instant-buy-options. I bet lots of people would prefer Paypal over credit-card. Especially those who do not own one and therefor buy from eBay-resellers![]()

Popular Forgeworld kits (Krieg, armour variants, and so on) which are on ebay available to Europe almost always break UK retail prices. The lack of easily available credit cards in Europe and Forgeworld's not taking paypal helps this.
Search ebay for Forgeworld and loads of buy it nows are in Germany where the sellers are buying from Forgeworld and marking up. I wouldn't accuse these sellers of recasting unless I'd seen the casts. Reselling Forgeworld and breaking up kits into bits seems like a successful business model for a few ebay sellers without needing to recast.

That may be true, I'm not terribly familiar with how the financial situation is in the EU right now. It certainly means that GW/FW is probably missing out on a substantial amount of direct-sale business because of that.
But I do know from having been involved in the garage kit scene that re-casting is a huge problem, and eBay is a primary source for re-cast kits worldwide. There are numerous individuals and groups in Hong Kong and Thailand who are recasting pretty much anything and everything that will sell. It's mostly anime- and video-game-related stuff, since that's the majority of the scene; but I've definitely seen re-casts of Forgeworld and old Armourcast kits out there. And not all sellers are up-front about their products being re-casts; quite a few try to sell their stuff as originals.
Obviously you'd know more about the European scene than I would; and I'm probably just being overly suspicious, a result of having been stung by too many crappy Thai re-casts in the past.

Well, at which age you normally get a credit card? 18? So a big number of possible customers is already cut off from FW direct sales. Then in how many countries you won't easily get a credit card or at least pay a comparable big (50€ per year is huge for example in romania or greece compared to their income) amount just to have one? I guess that's yet another huge percentage. Paypal is easier after all - even I would prefer using Paypal over sending them my credit card details.

I'm 15 and live in the Uk. I have an overly-active paypal account, but no credit card. I had to get a friend to order some FW stuff for me, and there;s far more I want and would buy but will never order because of the combination of not accepting paypal, and 12% shipping, especially as I live an hour away from nottingham.
How about this one?

£25? I have a box of ten that cost about £5!

An hour's not really that long to travel for a day out at Warhammer World so organise a trip with some mates, then if you're going anyway, call up the WW store the day before you go and ask them if they have/can get whatever you want in or save it for you. You can pay in cash when you get there. If they don't have it in the store, they mail it out to you for free.

I know they do the whole collect thing, I just dont really fancy making a load of effort for the sole sake of buying 2 characters for £12, or a greater daemon, both because I had a whim to get them and would have ordered them impulsively. As it is now, 2 months after that sale they could have got, I dont want either anymore.
@yabba... What? I'm merely saying I think they should accept paypal, pretty standard for most companies dealing online.
With the greatest respect mate you are 15. You are not a target demographic for FW so why would they incur additional costs just to attract a customer they aren't marketing?
FW target demographic are adults with lots of money, and therefore bank/credit cards. Always has been.
