Waste? In what way? Has he somehow reduced the total number of these kits ever to be made?At £135 per Scorpion, that means you're paying £300 for the modelling and painting work and shipping costs. I don't know how long he took to make that, so I can't say whether it's reasonable or not. I would say that there's a few "rough edges" I'm not keen on - leaving the engine air intakes untouched, for example, and not filling in the corners where the three sides meet.
Rough edges indeed. It's a nice piece of work and it looks great... but for that price I'd expect nothing less than perfection and attention to every detail.

While my wallet can't stretch far enough to justify that purchase, I do have to say at first glance it does look quite nice.

Calm down son; definition of the word is "extravagant consumption or ineffectual use". Sounds pretty solid interpretation in the context of taking 3 expensive tank kits and making a piece of scenery, no need to jump on the guy with a straw man argument and rolling eyes.
Waste in the way it looks like three very nice kits have been simply hacked up and plonked on a base to make a piece of terrain. The worst part is the terrain looks exactly like that is all that has been done! It wouldn't be so bad if it looked half decent or more thought had gone into it.
I for one could find better uses for £400 worth of scorpion tanks. But I guess your rolling eyes means you know best. Thanks for the comment.
It wasn't. That terrain was made quite some years ago and iirc you can find it on coolminiornot (edit: jup, here it is http://www.coolminiornot.com/239991) and it not self cast. He used the other stuff to make custom Falcons: http://www.coolminiornot.com/239480

It's a shame, because with 3 falcon kits it would have looked just as good and he could have sold the thing for 1/4 the cost.
I don't agree. I see ppl might not like what he did there and that it is expensive, but so much nerd-rage is ridiculous imo.

I'm guessing the anger is a knee-jerk reaction for many, who probably look at the use of such expensive parts for scenery in the same way that someone might view cutting apart a corvette for lawn furniture. There was no reason to use the scorpion chassis if they're so expensive, because you're passing that cost on to a potential buyer without providing any perceivable increase in quality.
Anger might be a bit strong of a word. This is a fun thread. Have fun, dammit.
