Was watching a unpainted metal Shrike on egay but its making the same money as a new finecast, took me a while to figure out why its making that sort of money, while I can understand people wanting metal over finecast the FW models on ebay I dont really understand

FW pre heresy armour making 17.5 plus 3.5 postage makes 21pound same price as FW minus postage would people really buy off ebay for near the same price as fw direct? at least with FW you now your getting it new know you have some comeback if anything is mis cast or damaged etc. I am watching it just to see if it goes any higher, given it has a few days left its possible

From what I can gather some people prefer going through eBay for stuff like Forgeworld kits precisely because they know, or at least hope, that the kit/model will have been more thoroughly checked by the original purchaser rather than having to deal with their apparently sometimes hit and miss quality control and as an added plus you have a wider range of payment options on eBay.

I picked up an Epic Warlock titan today for £1 BIN from a reputable business seller today..... fingers crossed all goes well...

I didn't check my notifications in time, or it would've been mine! It's nice when the "Oh god that can't be right" is for something that's almost too good of a deal to believe.

It was first thing yesterday morning - I couldn't quite believe it. I was torn between instantly buying it, and constantly reading the description to make sure it wasn't just a base I was buying. The stress!

As a follow up to this - sadly the "seller" - aa-wargames - have refunded my paypal payment. Clearly they mis-priced the lot, but it would have been nice if they had bothered to send me a message to say this as I was expecting one and would have (slightly grudgingly, mumble, mumble) let them do this.

Apparently so, and without notice to the buyer. If they let the buyer do that to the seller there would be uproar...

I believe the (UK) law allows for retailers to withdraw when genuine mistakes are made. Wasn't there a landmark case a while back where Argos or somebody mis-priced a TV on their website for a few pounds which brought this about?

Nothing awry, as DLB says - it was almost certainly a mis-type in the pricing - it would just have been a bit nicer had they contacted me to let me know this was the case.

You can do this as a retailer. What is illegal is selling something for more than its been advertised for, but retailers have the right to remove from sale any product at any time for any reason pretty much.

Thank you for your understanding of the refund, you are quite right, it was a mis-typing of the Buy-it-Now price. We have a hand-off between the person responsible for creating the listing and the person responsible for setting the pricing, and unfortunately on this occasion there was a gap in communication and the person responsible for setting the price (on this occasion, me!) did not amend the price from the default £1.00.

You are also right about our need to contact you, and for this failure I'd like to offer up a public apology. Ordinarily purchasers that are affected in this way are contacted by AA-Wargames through eBay and through Paypal to confirm the refund and the reasoning for it. The error was spotted shortly after the purchase was made, and a dilligent employee processed the refund immediately upon identifying the mistake. I can see from the Paypal record that a note was added to the refund explaining the error on our part, but as the employee was at home at the time (we have some very dedicated staff!) he processed the refund without then also notifying you through eBay. On behalf of AA-Wargames please accept my apology for this oversight.

The Eldar Warlock Titan will be relisted, with the correct price, but as you were a previously disappointed 'purchaser' I would be happy for you to PM me with an offer that you think is reasonable, and I will give it consideration before the listing goes live. As this isn't the correct arena for business to take place (apologies to the mods), you can contact me through eBay.

Again, my sincere apologies for your disappointment - AA-Wargames aren't in the business of disappointing wargamers - and hopefully we can put the model in your army for less than the market rate!
