The Heroquest auction is just dodgy advertising. I wouldn't be surprised if eBay removed it.

Supposedly it's "Pro-painted to basic quality". What the hell does that even mean? I'd assume he means he's a pro painter, who did a basic quality paintjob on them. Still, confusing :/
to be fair though, it comes with bases and isn't outrageously expensive. I can see some people going for it.
Praise the Emperor and pass the Ammo.
Perhaps that is why limited models and well-painted models are going for a song.... Too many people spent their money on empty boxes.

While I don't have a link, apparently there has been a whole mess of unreleased models hitting E-bay this week from the same seller. Again, none of them went for what I would have expected, or at least what I would have expected a few months back.

Anyone in Knoxville, TN wanting to play a game of fantasy, PM me!
The Skaven look okay indeed but I never really saw a market for pre-painted starter boxes (I know, it's not the full box, just the skaven, but still). The box is an investment into something people aren't sure they'll like (given that they're completely new gamers) and they aren't used to what paintjobs are worth (= cost) so they might be put off to invest that much.
Does anyone of you have differentiating experiences with pre-painted "beginners"-boxes? Or something like pre-painted batallion boxes? Would be interested to hear some input about that.
I recall about, what is it, seven years ago a friend of mine got a couple pro-painted armies from his parents as a birthday present, despite never having played the game before. I believe it were Necrons and Tyranids that he got, consisting of a battleforce for each and a few extra units.

This one made me chuckle. Ugly and expensive. Still free worldwide postage though!
Almost looks like a Tyranid Bobblehead.
That might be it, but I recall there being more than what is listed in his ended auctions.
@Sigur: Not so sure about these lean days, but I do know that when BfSP came out, there were plenty of pre-painted 'pro' (i.e. worse than me, which is saying something) auctions, split into factions, going for well more than what the game itself would cost today. Considering the game was, what, $45 US when it came out, and each side going in excess of $100, it seems like there used to be a market for that.
A direct answer to your question is 'yes', because from the scant auctions I have seen, the pre-painted battalions/battle forces do seem to go for more than starter sets/random units, but perhaps no where near worth the time invested in painting said armies.

Thanks for your answer. Yeah, my main concern isn't really that it wouldn't sell at all but would it sell at a sensible price. As I said, some people don't really seem to be aware of what a paintjob is worth when they ask for quotes. Well, I might give it a shot.
Amusing. Apart from the fact that I wouldn't buy anything on ebay that is from "Hong Kong", aren't these a little overpriced? Or are white wolf knights that much worth? If so, I must have completely missed that.
Out of interest, has anyone seen a Kruellagh the Vile up for sale in their eBay trawlings?

It's the Goblin Green bases. Makes people think they are vintage.....Neat trick. I'll try that next time I'm selling something.
Yeah, that's weird about the number of available lots. But I'm pretty sure I remember them actually having uploaded five different auctions. So either they have 25 lotsor are citing their own multiple auctions. Anyway, it's rather expensive but seems painted okay. Maybe recasts, maybe not. If a decent paintjob is slapped on, most people won't ask any questions.
Don't think I've seen this one come up yet:
Island of Blood
Only US $60 postage to here as well, and 5% off their usual price. A bargain!
I just found another great 'pro-painted' example:
Warhawk
Somehow this 'pro painter' who carefully paints every area of the mini to a high standard, missed the fact that the bird has more head armour than he realised. That must be one weird hawk face...

My eyes hurt now.
As to the whole 'Pro-Painted' thing, I expanded my search last night, and it seems like things are going for a lot more in the UK if they are well-painted than on my side of the pond (and yes, I am taking into account the currency difference!)....
