Did you paint over or under the decals, D? Also, nice Mk 4 squad. Those FW bits?

I really like the stuff going on in this thread. I like that you went in a whole different direction with the Astral Claws Ricky. I painted most of the marines in the Badab book, and the decision on the Astral Claws was definitely one of the hardest. Keep it up!

I still think that for that test termi, he should've made the stripes a little more regular, put on a swept-back two-pronged hairstyle, and maybe given him a stogie.

Painted over the decal. Was just a tester on a spare model - poor guy gets lumped with every test scheme and idea I have.

Basically the decals are a little large so I snipped 3 cuts in the decal and applied it to the pad, waited for it to set and painted the yellow. I also gave the red a once over but might do a second brighter red.

Yeah Mk4 but got a bad batch of tac marines so spent about 5 hours filing off mould lines, details and my fingers. Went into the store first thing this morning to order 2 boxes of Space Hulk and while I was there showed John my models and he promptly gave me a new box gratis.

Nice polite and great service. Go on Belfast!

Space Sharks were loyalists Don't have much built for executioners or mantis warriors yet - just a deathwatch member for each (see blog for details).

Been trying to get a couple LGS's interested in badab war but not much luck yet.

Yeah my termie sarge is a tranquility vet. I also have a scout squad in tranquility camo and a box of sternguard that will be sniper vets - sniper bolters are awesome.

i gave the deathwatch mantis warrior a true sniper rifle cuz i planned to use the deathwatch as a kill team (looking at death squads now), but the others will just get bolters with scopes and maybe silencers.

thanks bro - wanted to try something new so I used a masking liquid to do the camo stripes. a little involved but i think it was worth it. you can read some tips on my blog if you care.

sorry for the crappy image quality...such is that of a laptop webcam. I Can't seem to find my digital camera at the moment...but here is a teaser of a little something I am working on.




I have a WiP Ancient Perseus that is 90% complete...and will have a fully painted army done shortly. Finding my camera is on my list of things to do.
I just wish other gamers in my area were doing the Badab campaign like you guys...

your S.O.M. looks great nuke I was thinking of doing them at the start of our campaign but the bright green put me off. What do you bring them up from?

they have a pretty simple paint scheme...I hate priming anything with armor or metallic parts in white, so they were sprayed with a black primer(gives the green a little more substance), dark angels green for a base coat, and a couple coats of scorpion green(light on each coat, gradually making a solid color). White for the helmet, of course.
