Orks, Orks and more Orks

Having spent the best part of the year painting Orks, I thought it was about time I showed them off. Some of you may have already seen some of these as I started a log last year but as the pics seem to have disappeared, here they are again. I have almost 2500 points of Bad Moons painted and still have loads more to do so I've decided to call that the limit and do the rest Evil Suns with plenty of new Forge World goodness. Anyway, for your delectation, here are the Bad Moons.

I also have another 10 nobs to paint and another zzap gun to make the points up to 2500, I might treat myself to a stompa when everything is done to make a nice 3000 or so point apocalypse army. And then, of course, there's the Evil Suns to do.

I like your stuff mate, The warboss with the small head got me laughing, and I'm loving the basilisk with the hellhammer cannon added to it, really makes it look badass! Also are you going to base your models?

The yellow is built up from calthan brown, tausept ochre and iyanden darksun, washed with devlan mud. I could have just used iyanden darksun but building the colours up gives a stronger yellow.

Well, the Mega nobs are finished apart from the bases, I'll take some pics tomorrow in daylight. Might do some basing tonight, I'm just going to go with generic cityfight bases unless anyone has any more thoughts. Here's a bit of fun to keep you going until tomorrow

I'm quite sure you've used a stormboy rokkit pack for the body, a Nob Iron Gob for teeth, I think that is power klaws for feet, and is that really dark elf arms used as legs? I'm not sure what you used as the pointy spine though.

Nice ork-army, I really like it. Those meganobz sure looks massive in yellow! The warboss' retarded look made me laugh Storm Grot, lol! Keep it going dude!

Pretty spot on MrDarwid, the feet are spiky bits from chaos marine sprues and the main body is an old IG tank searchlight but have a cookie anyway. I'll post an army shot so far later today when the light is better.

As you can imagine, I got a bit sidetracked last night with the arrival of Space Hulk so I didn't do anything other than putting sand on the bases. Rest assured, normal service will resume. My relatively easy target is to have these complete before games day so I can start on the Evil Sunz as I have just ordered some trukks and a big trakk from Forgeworld.

How did you do the skin? I'm currently undecided on how to paint my orcs, and constantly looking for different styles and techniques

Thanks Fleshgrinder, I think it is one of my favourite models also. The skin is just Knarloc Green washed with Devlan Mud.
