    Guard and Scouts!

Hey guys, been out of the painting scene for a while now. This is gonna probably be a slow project but i'll see how things pan out. Recently i purchased some scouts and, never being satisfied with the average joe, i wanted to convert them up in some way, so i decided to do a squad and see how things pan out.

Tell me what you think. I've also got some Imperial Guard in the works, so i'll post them up as soon as i finish the standard bearer.

I really like what you have done here, how are you planning on painting them?

Where did you get those' heads. They look like the new Space Wolves ones. However they are awesome scout models.

    Re: Guard and Scouts!

Thanks for the comments. Konrad is right, the heads are marauder horsemen heads, but if you are going to use them you may be disappointed to find that their flowing hairdos restrict their head poses (which is why i may consider using cadian bodies instead). The respirators come from the Cadian command squad. I quite frankly have no idea how i'm going to paint them at the moment, though, i'm open to suggestions .

Heres the first of a few guardsmen.

    Re: Guard and Scouts!

Actually the idea stems from several sources, mainly, my old Salaguard Regiment and Seven Nations Army awesome Imperial Guard. However yours look great and are similar to the look i'm trying to achieve. Have anymore pictures of their progress since?

Anyway i've got another small update, the second guardsmen is done:

    Looking good, Mate !

Are you going to "blend in" those Respitrators with "Green-stuff" or what ?

Like the paint-scheme on these Guards.

    Re: Guard and Scouts!

Thanks, i probably won't 'blend' in the respirators because i want them clearly distinguishable from the heads, but i may add straps around their heads giving the impression of the respirators held in place.

    Re: Guard and Scouts!

Not going to lie, the amount of chaos heraldry on your scouts is a bit off-putting. But well done nonetheless. Your painting in particular is very crisp.
There are truths hidden even from those who have delved deepest into the forbidden secrets of the Space Marines, those who have borne witness to secret rites and gained access to tomes of unknowable antiquity. Some of these truths are hidden even from the Astartes themselves, for as it is said, there are none so blind as those who refuse to see...

Nice 'kit-bash' there from fanatsy and 40k kits. The paintjob is looking good and smooth too. Especially on the white color and the blue color. What did you use on the bases (it looks like a resin piece)? I am looking forward for some updates!

    Re: Guard and Scouts!

@ deviceheretic: Well besides the flag, i don't think there are any other chaos similar heraldry. I aimed to get a very feral look, something outward and unique for them. I realised when building them that i may need to trim the flag down but due to the way in which the spikes are connected to the pole, cutting them would mean possible loosing details and i'm out of greenstuff to fill holes in at the moment , alas its not to late thought, i haven't undercoated them yet and i can take the bus to the local GW on next weekend to nab some greenstuff.

@ Bane_sword: The bases are from a base making company: back to basics, but i can't for the life of me find their website now that you mention it. My alternative method was that i was going to try making some similar bases using plastic card but the process got tedious as i'm a very lazy person .

Another update of the commander. Hopefully i can get better pictures of him soon.
