    Arch knights Space marine VS tau 1600pts

    This is my first report so hope it is ok.

    The Date is 987.M41
    The arch knight 2nd company have been forwarded to beta-190r to investigate reports of unknown energy signals coming from under the surface.
    Chapter master Guis Jupiter. Thought that it could be a necron Tomb decided to accompy the 2nd company to the planet to check it out.

    “Ok men lets check this forsaken planet over, if this is a necron tomb then we will cleanse it with the might of the emperor” said chapter master Jupiter.
    Just as the tech marines started to dig and find out what was under the surface the first plasma shots fired and killed a couple techmarine’s.

    “Take Cover” Yelled Chapter master Jupiter.
    The tau had come out of no where to surprise the Marines

    “For the emperor and for the sake of humanity” All the marines said as one
    “CHARGE” yelled the sergeants.

    Turn 1 SM:

    P moved 12” Towards Centre of battlefield where there was some sandbags.
    R moved 12” Towards Barricade that was near centre of Battlefield
    DR moved 6” then ran 3” towards centre to support the rhino and the pred
    MLD moved 6” then ran 3” towards the wall that was on the outside near the Centre.
    SC1 moved 6” then ran 4” to behind the tower that was just on the outside of the deployment zone
    SC2 moved 6” then ran 3” towards the left flank.
    TE moved 6” then ran 3” in support of the dred.
    AM moved 12” to tuck in behind SC1.
    CM did not move and used orbital Bombardment to try and take out the BS but no luck missed by a mile and scattered 10” towards the back of the battlefield.

    Turn 1 Tau:

    FW 1 + 3 moved 6” and ran 3”
    FW with E moved 6” and ran 4” towards trench just out side of Tau deployment Zone.
    Vispid moved 12” to get near the ruins in the centre of the battlefield.
    HH moved Full speed to take the hill on the right hand flank.
    ST 1 and 2 moved forward and then ran to be near trench.
    Crisis moved 6” to support ST1 + 2
    BS did not move but fired and killed one marine of SC2.


    Turn 2 SM:

    MLD moved 6” then ran 4” to help pred.
    Pred moved 6” towards sandbags defensive position.
    LC moved 6” then ran 4”.
    Termie moved 6” then ran 2”.
    CM moved 6”.
    SC1 moved 3” to take tower.
    SC2 moved 6” then ran to take crater on out side of deployment zone.
    AM moved 6”.
    R moved 2” to tuck in behind ruins in middle of battle field for cover.
    DR did not move and fired all weapons at FW2 but all missed (3 rolls of 1).


    Turn 2 Tau:

    FW 2 with E formed reserve in rear of ruins.
    Fw1 + Fw3 moved 6”to just outside of trench.
    ST2 moved 6” and ran 4” to trench.
    ST1 moved 6” to trench.
    VIS moved towards tau leader.
    BS fired rail gun and killed 1 assault marine.
    CR moved and fired and killed 2 Assault marine’s that was in cover.
    HH fired at LC and missed.

    AM fell back 9” back towards SM deployment Zone.

    Turn 3 SM:

    MLD moved 6”
    DR moved 6”
    AM re grouped and moved 12”
    R disembarked MM team.
    MM team moved 6” to edge of Ruin.
    CM moved 6” then ran 2”
    Termie’s moved 6” then ran 4” towards centre of ruin.
    SC2 moved 6”
    SC1 did not move.
    DR fired Las killed 1 Vis then fired ML and killed 1 more Vis, Vis retreated 7” after failing LD test.

    Turn 3 Tau:

    FW1 + FW3 moved 2” to trench for cover.
    ST2 moved towards R.
    Vis regrouped then moved 4” towards CR.
    CR moved 6” then decided to jump back 6”.
    HH fired at LC and killed 3 marines.
    CR fired at SC2 and killed 1 marine.

    Turn 4 SM:

    R moved 12” and CM embarked
    DR moved 6” and fired Las and killed BS
    Termies moved 6” and ran 3” to get near middle of ruins to fire on any one that went on to there range.
    SC1 moved off tower 6” and ran 2”
    MLD did not move and fired Krak at FW 3 and killed 2 Fire warrior’s
    LC team fired las-cannon and immobilised the HH.


    Turn 4 Tau:

    FW2 with E moved up the middle to the ruins.
    ST2 moved against pred.
    ST1 moved 6” (forgot to shoot and assault)
    CR moved 3”.
    HH fired at ST2 and killed 4
    FW3 fired at Termies and shots bounced off.
    FW1 fired at AM and killed 2, team was destroyed.


    Turn 5 SM::

    R moved 12” on the left flank.
    Pred tank shocked ST2 but they passed LD test.
    DR fired Las-cannon and missed.
    MLD did not move.
    Termies fired on FW2 with E and killed 1.

    Turn 5 Tau:

    ST2 fired and distoryed the side las-cannon of the pred.
    CR moved and fired at DR immobilised it and destroyed the ML.
    FW with E fired and killed 1 marine (cant remember what squad).


    Battle ended
    VP Tau= 677.5
    VP SM= 355

    Victory to tau


    Things I have learnt:
    I relied to much on the middle of the battlefield so he had a pick of who to fire on also had bad luck with the dice think at 1 time rolled 7 dice and out of the 7, all of the dice was 2 and 1’s, against a 2 man team not very good
    Not sure what the tau player learned but will ask him then edit this post to say.


    Think I have missed out 1 or 2 turn’s not sure hope this is easy to follow.
