The Deadley 40K Project

Well ive now been collecting and painting for a whole six months and ive gone a bit mad on the buying side of the hobbie.Now i need to get building and painting ,So ive desided to make a thead so you lot can give me the kick i need to get my armys built and painted ,So ive deside to list all my armys and then i can work out a plan of action (Cue the ATeam music)

Dark Angel 3rd company (10 marines in a squad)
2 Assault squad’s 1 painted ,1 still in boxes
2 Devastator squads 1 painted, 1 still in boxes
6 Tactical squads 1 painted ,2 squads built and nearly painted ,1 to strip
3 razor backs, built and base painted
1 landraider,built and base painted
2 Dreadnought ,built and base painted
1 forgeworld Vindicator
plus ive got all the charcters

Leigon of the Dammed marines
50 mixed marines still need buliding and painting

Imperial Guard
2 cadian battleforces
2 chimeras
1 squad of kasikins
1 command squad
1 box of cadian troops
3 boxes of heavy weapons
1 baneblade ,needs to be painted
2 packs of Hardened Veterans from FW
2 packs of cadian up grades from FW (once they get delivered) on monday
plus ive got some charcters
So far ive painted 30 guard ,10 kaskins 3 heavy weapon teams ,2 melta troopers ,2 plasma troopers, 3 Sentinals and 2 Junior Officers

Black Templers

2 battle forces
1 Assault squad
1 Terminators squad
1 Close Combat Terminators squad
1 sword brethen squad
1 landraider crusader
5 chapter upgrade boxes
all the charcters aswell (draco etc)

Tau
3 battle suits and troops drones
1 box of Fire warriors

Chaos
10 marines and 5 Terminators and a chacter

Harliquins
all the harliquins GW made need to be built and painted

Dwarf
1 dwarf army box set ,to build and paint

Plus ive got loads of Scenery to make a table to finish and box full of blister packs with alsorts and some old GW judge dread stuff and ive just found 2 boxes of Last chances and 2 gaunts ghost

And on monday i will have a full Elysians army with 3 drop Sentinels and a Valkyrie if FW dont mess up with my order

so you can see my problem i need to sort out which army i should paint first or a case of which one should i finish first .

I need help with painting tips for some things like How to paint flame effects for my Legion of the dammed ,colour schemes for harliquins any thing that can help me with my mamouth task

Im not looking to sell any of my stuff just get it built and painted Ebay has been a big problem when it comes to buying stuff ,Ive been collecting the figures i used to have when i collected the first time When i was 15 , all old ones like the harliquins ,the old marines and the judge dread figures and the ones i missed out on when i wasnt collecting .I know i need to cut down on my buying because the GF is starting to complain

FINALLY!!! Someone who is in deeper than me! But, my problem most of the things I need to get painted aren't even mine. Maybe I should start a thread like this to get my act in gear!!

On your front... I have a few questions...

Which one are you closest to completing?
- by completing things, you will feel good about yourself and you will want to do more.

What do you want to paint?
- by painting what you want to paint, then you will get things done and you won't get sick of painting as quickly... because you will... I am in my down time right now...

What do you want to play with?
- by painting what you want to play with right now, you will get the motivation to complete that project.

Do you want to paint one thing at a time?
- by having a variety of things to paint, you can diversify what you are working and therefore not getting sick of one thing in particular.

Do you need two boxes of Last Chancers?
- just thought I would slip that one in, since I have been looking one for a very long time now...

To sum up:

I vote for guard. Your baneblade is coming along nicely and it sounds like you have a good start on a complete army.

I have 2 sets of last chances because one is sealed and the other is for painting its the same with my Legion of the dammd there only 1 box thats not sealed and the rest are in blister ,ive kept them like that becuase if i dont build them i can sell them ebay in years to come

Ive got a lot because ive picked alot of it up cheap plus it helps having a mate who works in a Model shop and he keeps giving me stuff cheap hes got me a full wood elf army 2000 point for 50 pound,and thats from his own collection

well, i think the most sensible thing to do would do the elysians first, because undoubtably they'll be the army you're most into at the moment if you're just about to get your hands on those FW goodies.

Jees o!! I WISH I had that many models! But without the bothering of having to paint them all, I would have great fun building and converting them all. And don't like the idea of getting kicked into action by any of these guys (or girls).

Just a quick update The green still need another coat but its getting there,Plus the brushes are very good the paint goes on like a dream

Great start to the baneblade. I have another idea though for all your stuff. Instead of painting it all, give a portion to me so I can finish my SM army. It's a win-win situation if you ask me.
