    Re: BlueWolf74727's Log of everything

My attempts at painting yellow have never gone well so perhaps i'm not the best person to give advice. You might find it easier to spray paint the yellow shoulder pad separately with a white undercoat as then you won't need such a thick yellow base coat?

I've tried undercoating different bits of models in different colours before and as long as you are careful with colours the bits can tie in just fine...

    Re: BlueWolf74727's Log of everything

I really like the painting so far on the IG officer. However I have to ask why you didn't fully assemble it prior to painting?

Re: yellow. I find Vallejo paints generally work much better over darker undercoats than GW ones, but I have never tried the Foundation paints so that may be a source of help. If trying for a warmer (less pastel) yellow over a dark undercoat, I sometimes try a light brown as a thin base coat, apllying a couple of thin coats to get an even appearance to the colour before pressing on with yellow. I used to used washes of Snakebite Leather to shade, but now use Vallejo Natural Wood wash which is almost the same thing except ready made.

Woooooooow! Each codex gets a MINIMUM of 15k! I'm struggling with 1 codex of 1.5k. In fact I've struggled with it for about 3 years and am just about to finish up my last 2 vehicles. I better get off my a$$ and get down to painting!

Still, it's people like you who are inspiring. Will be watching this space with interest. and of course, much awe.
